The night we have all been waiting for is almost here! The Reagan family is returning to television Friday night in the upcoming Blue Bloods twelfth season premiere.
While Blue Bloods watchers have had to wait for this season twelve premiere, the show’s network, CBS has been giving fans a small taste of what they can expect in the upcoming twelfth season.
This past week, CBS teased fans with a few photos from the first couple of episodes of the multi-generational cop series’s upcoming season. And, these sneak peeks promise some amazing moments when the Reagan family returns Friday night for the twelfth season of Blue Bloods.
One of the first things to notice from the teasers is the return of the late Joe Reagan’s son, Joe Hill.
From the looks of things, Frank Reagan’s grandson which the family only recently met, will be a major player in the new season.
Adjusting To ‘Blue Bloods’ Family Life
We first met this surprise member of the Reagan family at the end of Blue Bloods’ tenth season.
Since then, Joe Hill has made appearances in the series here and there over the eleventh season of Blue Bloods. And, by the of last season, the Blue Bloods character’s appearances on the series were becoming more and more of a regular thing.
Then, when Joe Hill’s turn working undercover went awry, the Reagan clan came together to help Joe’s long-lost son.
And, fans were happy to see him return to the Reagan family fold, joining the group for one of the famous Blue Bloods dinners.
When the Blue Bloods eleventh season ended, showrunners said that while Joe Hill won’t be around full-time, in the new season, but producers are hoping to “weave him in and out of stories,” going forward.
“He obviously has a great chemistry and connection to our cast,” Blue Bloods executive producer Kevin Wade said of the character.
“And my anecdotal evidence is that the audience really liked what he brought to the show,” the producer added. “He has a fresh relationship with the characters that they’ve been with for 11 years.”
A Romance For Danny Reagan?
Another fan-favorite storyline in the hit CBS television drama is the partnership between New York Police Detective Danny Reagan who is played by Donnie Whalberg and Maria Baez, who is portrayed by Marisa Ramirez.
These Blue Bloods partners are pairing up again to work on a case together as the new season premieres. But, fans wonder, will this lead to a romance that many fans have been waiting for?
Since the loss of his wife, Linda, Danny Reagan has been adjusting to life as a single father.
And, according to a sneak peek, the officer may be considering a new romance in the new episodes.
Will this mean a new actress will come with the new romance? Or, will Danny find love right next to him with his partner, Baez?
Another new sneak-peek for the upcoming Blue Bloods season suggests a big case the Reagan family will be facing on the job.
Some information suggests Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck), who plays the New York City Police Commissioner, will be out in the field this season.
An unusual place for the police commissioner, for sure. This suggests that there is something big that pulled the commissioner away from his desk and into the field with his officers.
The twelfth season of the hit CBS drama will premiere on Friday, October 1.
