When it comes to friendships, actress Bridget Moynahan has lived and learned. The “Blue Bloods” star on Monday posted a graphic to Instagram expressing her philosophy on friends.

“Remember, you don’t need a certain number of friends,” the graphic reads, “just a number of friends you can be certain of.”

“That you can be certain of… yup,” posted Moynahan. “#trust.”

Moynahan’s Friends Include Her ‘Blue Bloods’ Costars

It’s not just the marathon dinner scenes that sealed it. Over the course of 11 seasons, the “Blue Bloods” cast has grown quite close. And Moynahan appears to be particularly good friends with co-stars Donnie Wahlberg and Tom Selleck.

In a 2019 interview with CBS’s Watch! magazine, Wahlberg explained that he and Moynahan knew each other even before the show launched. He called Moynahan up when he got the offer to do “Blue Bloods” and persuaded her to reconsider a role on the show, which she had already passed on.

“She and I started out as friends coming out of tough relationships, as single parents, and became friends and confidants,” Wahlberg explained. “[We] watched each other go through other relationships and then ultimately find spouses. Bridget and I have gone through this parallel journey as friends and have been there for each other.”

Friends of Moynahan Came to Her Defense Amid Gisele Bundchen Drama

As even non-football fans know, Moynahan has a son, Jack, with Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. Moynahan found out she was pregnant around the time that she and Brady broke up and he got together with model Gisele Bundchen. For a few years, Moynahan’s life became tabloid fodder as the tensions between her and Brady and Bundchen boiled over.

Since then, the adults involved have all made nice, and they’re now on amicable terms. But Moynahan’s friends have indignantly come to her defense as conflicts between the three public figures played out in the press.

When Bundchen told Vanity Fair she thought of Jack as her son, Moynahan’s friends had her back. They spoke out about Bundchen’s decision to drag Jack into public discussion.

“If Tom is such a great father as everyone likes to say, then you would think that he’d respect the privacy of his young child and would ask his wife not to use his son as a publicity prop and a subject of public discussion. Is she so desperate for attention that she can’t find anything more productive to talk about other than Bridget’s child?” one Moynahan defender told the New York Post.

With all the stressors in her personal life, Moynahan clearly needs the support of trustworthy friends. And it looks like she has a few she can count on through good times and bad.
