On “Blue Bloods,” Bridget Moynahan plays Erin Reagan, the Bureau Chief in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Her advice to people who cross her path on the show would be to always adhere to the law.
In real life, Bridget Moynahan is sharing some broader life advice with her followers. It’s not related to law and crime or even acting, but rather how to treat other people.
“The next time you see someone enjoying something, that isn’t hurting anyone, that’s not your cup of tea instead of saying something negative train yourself to think to yourself ‘I’m glad they are happy’ and carry on with your life,” the actress wrote.
The actress has been portraying her role in the series since 2010. Besides “Blue Bloods,” she is known for “Sex and the City,” “Coyote Ugly,” “John Wick,” “Serendipity,” and “Noise.”
Moynahan Talks ‘Blue Bloods’ Success
In a 2014 interview with The Aquarian, Bridget Moynahan talked about what she thinks makes “Blue Bloods” so popular. A part of it is that it brings a behind-the-scenes look at the life of police officers, detectives, and other figures.
“I think people love watching our show because you get to see the human side of their lives, their personal struggles, and also how the job and certain cases might affect them. It encourages you to think about what they see on a daily basis and how that might affect them. I’m sure that’s something most people don’t ordinarily think about when interacting with a police officer,” she said.
Moynahan also talked about the show’s credibility. She said it’s important to everyone that not only are things entertaining but they also accurate. She admits that one of her biggest tasks is having to “learn the language of lawyers,” something she’s not familiar with outside of the show.
“We do have a couple people we rely on to ensure that it’s as credible as possible. We’ve had two on set over the years that I’m able to consult/speak to about how a situation might be handled, because we do want to make the show as honest and as accurate as possible,” Moynahan said.
Moynahan Talks Lifechanging Shoes
In an interview with the BUILD Series, Bridget Moynahan talked about how a pair of shoes just happened to change her life.
“[The boots] were black, up to the knee. They were very tough, very strong, and they had nice hardware on them. And they reminded me of New York, because at this point, I was living in Los Angeles. I bought them, I put them on, and I walked out of there, maybe unconsciously thinking that this was the moment I was going to take my life back,” the “Blue Bloods” actress said.
Moynahan admitted that at that point in her life, she was going through a tough time. She was being constantly surrounded by paparazzi due to her breakup with Tom Brady and her pregnancy.
Moynahan said this was her inspiration to write her book, “Our Shoes, Our Selves: 40 Women, 40 Stories, 40 Pairs of Shoes.” She believes that shoes hold important memories. She interviews accomplished women like Danica Patrick, Bobbi Brown, Misty Copeland, and Rupi Kaur.
