‘Blue Bloods’ Star Marisa Ramirez Revealed Which Actors She’d Like To Work With More On the Show

by John Jamison

Over the course of 174 episodes, Marisa Ramirez’s Maria Baez has crossed paths with just about every other character on “Blue Bloods.” But as Danny Reagan’s partner and not a member of the Reagan family, there are only so many opportunities to mix it up with the likes of Tom Selleck or Bridget Moynahan. It raises the question, which actors would she love to share the screen with more often?

Marisa Ramirez joined the cast a few years after “Blue Bloods” was already underway. But in her eight years on the show, the Maria Baez actress has gone from newcomer to veteran. And she only earned her true stripes recently.

Remember the iconic family dinner scenes? Well, it took until just last year for Baez to get an invite from Danny to the Reagan family dinner. Of course, that’s no small thing. But in addition to what it meant for her character, it also meant that Ramirez got to share the screen with actors she doesn’t often get to work with.

The ‘Blue Bloods’ Star’s List Doesn’t Include Any Members of the Reagan Family

Of course, Marisa Ramirez would want more scenes with Tom Selleck. Who wouldn’t? The guy is a television icon. And she already gets plenty of time with Donnie Wahlberg. But interestingly, when she was asked who she’d like to work with more, her answer wasn’t any of the Reagans.

In a recent interview with PopCulture, the “Blue Bloods” star described exactly which cast members she wanted more time with.

“I would love to work with Abigail [Hawk], you know she’s just- we sat with each other at the wedding, and we had such a good time together. And there was that female energy that we just kind of were craving more of together,” Ramirez said. “But it would be really nice to kind of be able to spend the day with her at work.”

Abigail Hawk plays fellow police detective Abigail Baker. Her character, however, acts as an aide to Tom Selleck’s Commissioner Frank Reagan. As a result, much of her time on screen is dedicated to that area of her job.

“And same goes for Steve [Schirripa]. I love being around Steve. His presence is just amazing. He’s just such a warm, lighthearted, just a genuine guy. And I think I have some scenes coming up with him next week. So that’s something to look forward to.”

Steve Schirripa plays retired detective Anthony Abetemarco. His character sees him working mostly with Bridget Moynahan’s Erin Reagan. Again, there isn’t a ton of overlap between his and Ramirez’s characters. But it sounds like the pair had an opportunity to work together recently. Fans will be able to catch the scenes in the upcoming season of “Blue Bloods.”
