‘Blue Bloods’ Star Steve Schirripa Revealed What Its Like to Work with Clint Eastwood

After working with film legend Clint Eastwood twice, ‘Blue Bloods’ star Steve Schirripa revealed what it was like working the star.

Schirripa worked with Eastwood on “Hereafter” in 2010 and “Jersey Boys” in 2014. The star played a chef in the 2010 film. He missed out on a part for a more prominent role in the 2014 film but accepted a smaller casting opportunity.

“I was up for a bigger role in (Jersey Boys), but I didn’t get it,” Schirripa said. “And he gave me this (small role), and it was only about four or five lines, but I was happy to do it.”

According to a Talk Nerdy With Us article, The “Blue Bloods” star said he remembers getting flown out to Los Angeles for the film and did the job because when Eastwood asked him, he didn’t want to turn him down.

Schirripa provided some excellent insight on Eastwood, saying “he’s a terrific director” and “he enjoys what he does.”

The star added that Eastwood “knows exactly what he wants.”

The “Blue Bloods” star enjoyed his time on the “Jersey Boys” film and had the added bonus of working with another famous celebrity, Christopher Walken. Both men also starred in the 2011 flick “Kill The Irishman.” Schirripa said he was “just happy to be a part of it” and added that “it was a good film.”

Schirripa And Willie Boy At It Again

“Blue Bloods” star Steve Schirripa took to Instagram recently to urge fans to watch the show with a usual suspect, his favorite pet Willie Boy.

Owner and dog urged friends to watch because they were going to tune in as well. Fans were all about complimenting Willie Boy. Oh, and Steve Schirripa too.

The show is in its 12th season.

‘Sopranos’ Book Gets Schirripa Treatment

Schirripa and former co-star Michael Imperioli recently wrote a book on their past TV show.

The men talk about their show experiences in “Woke Up This Morning: The Definitive Oral History of The Sopranos.” Some even think the show is the greatest TV show of all time (M*A*S*H, cough, cough).

The Fredricksburg (Va.) ran a review of the book by the men, who famously starred in the show — Imperioli as Christopher, Tony Soprano’s beloved nephew, and Schirripa as Bobby Baccalieri.

The men host the “Talking Sopranos” podcast, and much of the show’s material found its way into the book.

“The Sopranos” ran on HBO from 1999 to 2007. It garnered 111 Emmys and won 21 Oscar statues. Lead actors James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) and Edie Falco (Carmela Soprano) won three each.

So, the book’s format is engaging in that it transcribes a running dialogue between the hosts. There are also chapters detailing each season and the background storylines (for example, how important music was to the show).
