Even on TV shows, relationships between two people take work. Don’t think so? Take a look at what “Blue Bloods” star Vanessa Ray said.

Ray, who plays Officer Eddie Janko-Reagan, is married on the CBS police drama to Sergeant Jamie Reagan, played by Will Estes. She talked about their relationship in a 2018 interview with Long Island Weekly.

“I think it’s really complicated, with myself included, as a fan of this couple,” Ray said. “There’s a lot of learning curves and [a] lot of figuring out what their relationship looks like.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Pointed Out That Eddie, Jamie Have Loved One Another

“I think it’s more of a struggle than they were anticipating,” she said. “That’s something that I read a lot when I get the scripts and say, ‘Oh man, this is hard for them.’ It’s a lot harder for them than I think we all thought.

Ray said of the “Blue Bloods” couple, “They’ve loved each other for all these years, they’re finally together and now the fun begins, but it’s sort of where the real work has begun for them in terms of their relationship instead of their actual work and family unit.”

Expect Eddie and Jamie to be working on their relationship more when “Blue Bloods” kicks off its 12th season. Outsiders, tune into CBS on Friday, Oct. 1, at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central, and see what the Reagan family is up to in the field and at the dinner table.

Will Ray get a scene or two at those dinner table moments? We’ll have to wait and see. But it won’t come as a surprise if Eddie is sitting next to Bridget Moynahan in those scenes. Moynahan plays Assistant District Attorney Erin Reagan on “Blue Bloods” and has been with the CBS hit show since its first season.

Maria Baez Actress Marisa Ramirez Left Modeling Career for Acting

Some Outsiders might wonder why “Blue Bloods” actress Marisa Ramirez, who plays Detective Maria Baez, would leave a modeling career and become an actress.

Well, here’s Ramirez to answer that burning question.

“I was 18-19 and on my own, I didn’t like being seen as an object, as a model,” Ramirez told ClubPlanet in 2011. “I was sort of a personality and I wanted to show it. So, I decided to pursue acting.

“My first job was hosting for MTV,” Ramirez said. “And something happened to my co-host. We were shooting and he actually was involved in an accident. The show went on hiatus at that point. Then I auditioned for ‘General Hospital.'”

The rest, as they say, is history. And yes, Ramirez will return to play Baez, who is the police partner of Detective Danny Reagan, played by Donnie Wahlberg.
