It turns out that we may have seen Blue Bloods star Will Estes on the set of another popular crime show years ago.
Nowadays, Estes is known for his starring role as Jameson “Jamie” Reagan in the popular police drama. In the show, he plays a New York City Police Department officer. He’s also the youngest son of the police commissioner, Frank Reagan. Frank Reagan is played by Tom Selleck.
The hit show, which debuted back in 2010, also stars big names like Donnie Wahlberg and Bridget Moynahan. There are currently 11 seasons of Blue Bloods. And to all of our pleasure, the cast and crew were renewed for a 12th season back in April.
As for Will Estes, Blue Bloods is most definitely his claim to fame now. But the 42-year-old has starred in countless movies and TV shows over his busy career. Perhaps one of his top guest appearances came 15 years ago. That’s when he’s portrayed a murder suspect in the long-running crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Fans today are used to seeing Will Estes’ Blue Bloods character, Jamie, with his eyes on crime suspects. But that was just the opposite in the 2006 episode of Law & Order: SVU.
During the 17th episode of season seven, “Class,” law enforcement was able to narrow down three murder suspects after finding a college girl’s body. Suspects included the victim’s roommate who was seen wearing an expensive ring, a popular athlete to whom the ring belonged and was stolen, and Will Estes’ character. He played a childhood friend of the victim.
In the end, fan-favorite detective Eliot Stabler made a special case for Estes’ character after his childhood stories reminded Stable of his own past.
Where Else Have We Seen the ‘Blue Bloods’ Star?
We know him by New York City police officer Jamie Reagan now, but Will Estes has had a long, successful career. And that’s even before his time on Blue Bloods.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Estes got into acting at a young age. His first roles were for commercials like Fruit of the Loom. But he would shortly go on to have various guest-starring roles on popular TV shows. Some of them were Highway to Heaven and Santa Barbara, just to name a couple.
Furthermore, the Blue Bloods star also dabbled in the music video industry. Estes made an appearance in Meat Loaf’s video “Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer than They Are” (from Bat out of Hell II: Back into Hell). He was also a part of Bon Jovi’s video “It’s My Life” with Shiri Appleby.
More recently, however, Will Estes has been playing Jamie Reagan in one of the top police shows out right now — Blue Bloods. He stars in the show with the likes of other big names. Some of those include Donnie Wahlberg, Tom Selleck, and Bridget Moynahan.
