Usually, Friday nights mean “Blue Bloods” on CBS. Well, Outsiders, the show will be on but it won’t be a new episode. So, what’s happening here?

TV Guide does not list a new episode.

We turn to Reddit where one of the show’s fans, Navitach, left a post titled “No new episode next week (October 29)”.

The Redditor writes, “Just a heads-up: Apparently they’re skipping a week (they seem to love to do that; they did it a lot with the shorter last season, I guess to try to stretch it out), and that’s why there wasn’t a preview for the next episode after last night’s (October 22). My cable guide (Verizon Fios) shows that in its place will be a repeat from last season. According to the IMDb, the show will return on November 5.”

And, upon checking that IMDb listing, yes, it clearly states that the next new episode of “Blue Bloods” will pop on the first Friday in November.

But fear not fans. There will be a repeat episode titled “Redemption” that’s from last season on Friday night. It is listed on the CBS schedule.

So, if you have not seen this episode or want to simply get a “Blue Bloods” fix, then you can tune into this rerun on Friday, Oct. 29. It’ll be on at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central, on CBS.

‘Blue Bloods’ Star Says Cast Has Considered Having A ‘Musical’ Episode

Well, here would be quite an interesting episode, indeed. “Blue Bloods” fans are used to the show being very serious with moments of light chit-chat here and there.

But a “musical” episode?

That’s a possibility. Actor Will Estes, who plays Jamie Reagan, talks about the possibility of this episode.

Estes chats with Nerds of Color about this idea. He was asked, “If ‘Blue Bloods’ could do a crossover with any show you’re personally a fan of, which would you pick?”

Well, he knows how networks enjoy producing crossovers within their network shows. Estes puts forward the idea of a “Blue Bloods” musical.

“That’s a really great question!” Estes said. “We’ve all talked about doing a musical episode that’s ‘all a dream’ at the end of it. As in one of the characters wakes up and has dreamed a musical version of a ‘Blue Bloods’ episode.”

OK, so is this going to happen or not? “I don’t really think it’s gonna happen though. Ha!” Estes said.

Sure, it could be simply an idea that comes and goes. Remember, though, that Len Cariou, who plays Retired NYPD Commissioner Henry Reagan, has quite a Broadway history in his career.

“Blue Bloods” could have a musical-type show. The question, though, is would fans be OK with that or not? Time will tell if this happens.
