Britney Spears is currently in the middle of a legal battle over her conservatorship. Earlier this summer, the singer spoke out publicly about her infamous conservatorship, which has notably controlled her music career as well as her finances since 2008. It was even in control of her life, including her not being able to have more children or even marry her boyfriend, Sam.
Britney Spears’ father, James Spears, is the co-conservator of her estate alongside the outside financial group, Bessmer Trust. Following the singer’s now well-known and very descriptive testimony, Bessmer Trust has filed to withdraw from the conservatorship. This leaves Britney going head to head against her father in hopes she can finally get out of the conservatorship for good.
Britney Spears Unleashes On Social Media Post Conservatorship Hearing
Britney Spears recently took to her Instagram account to open up about her struggles with everything going on. “So I said, ‘Life goes on in one of my recent posts. But it’s always easier said than done,” She writes. The singer then states that she doesn’t think she will be able to let things go until she’s able to say everything she needs to say.
“I was told to stay quiet about things for so long. I finally feel like I’m getting here,” Britney Spears states. The post includes a snapshot that reads “One day at a time.” The post also follows Spears calling out her younger sister, Jamie Spears.
After announcing she will not be performing due to her father’s iron grip on her career and finances, Britney Spears turns on Jamie by stating, “I don’t like that my sister showed up at an awards show and performed MY SONGS to remixes!!! My so-called support system hurt me deeply.”
Britney Spears also states that the conservatorship is killing her dreams and she is still hopeful, despite the world trying to hurt her. She also writes about the documentaries about her life and career. “I didn’t like the way that documentaries bring out humiliating moments from the past. I’m way past all that and have been for a long time. And for women who said it’s weird that I still hope for fairy tales, go f— yourself. As I said, hope is all I have right now.”
Britney Spears goes on to add that people try to kill hope because hope is one of the most vulnerable things there is.
