Today, an ad for the Biden campaign narrated by Bruce Springsteen will air during the Penn State vs. Ohio State football game. The ad is targeted toward Scranton, Pennsylvania, Joe Biden’s hometown. Springsteen’s stand out hit “My Hometown” off of his Born in the U.S.A. album will also be featured on the advertisement.
As the election approaches, more and more celebrities have voiced their support for either candidate. Countless athletes, actors, musicians, and more have endorsed either Senator Biden or President Trump. For instance, Jay Cutler, Herschel Walker, and Jack Nicklaus have taken to social media to endorse President Trump this week. With that said, Biden has his fair share of supporters among celebrities and athletes, most recently Springsteen. He has been fairly vocal not only in his support for Biden but also in his disdain for President Trump. On his radio show, From My Home to Yours, Springsteen recently read an Anti-Trump poem. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band recently released a new album titled Letter to You.
“Voting is how you make what matters to you matter to them,” Springsteen said in a tweet. He continues with “every time you vote, you decide the future of this country”. This year more than ever, public figures, companies, and organizations have promoted early voting and urged citizens to vote. As a result, voter turnout has been remarkably higher than in 2016.
With the election less than a week away, we can expect to see a lot more celebrity endorsements for presidential candidates. As Bruce Springsteen suggests in his tweet, voting is the best way to shape the future of the country. For more voting information, voting locations, or to register to vote, please visit vote.org.
