Bruce Willis and John Travolta will reunite after 27 years.

Travolta and Willis will act as rivals in the upcoming film, Paradise City. Their reunion comes 27 years after their classic roles in Pulp Fiction.

On May 14, Deadline exclusively announced the casting. Chuck Russell is set to direct the action film. Production begins tomorrow and will take place in Maui, Hawaii. According to the outlet’s sources, the location will play an important role in the movie.

Bruce Willis will star as Ryan Swan, a bounty hunter living in Hawaii. Ryan’s goal is to “wreak vengeance on the kingpin,” played by Travolta. Travolta’s character killed Ryan’s father and he is out for revenge. The movie is similar to Miami Vice but with police instead of bounty hunters. Actress Praya Lundberg landed the female lead role.

Corey Large is co-writing the movie. He will also act in the film as part of a bounty hunting posse. Large previously executive produced and produced several films with Bruce Willis. He worked on Acts of Violence, Extraction, Vice, Marauders, among other projects. Large has been attempting to have Willis and Travolta co-star again since 2006.

This marks the fourth movie that Bruce Willis and John Travolta have acted in together. They only worked on screen together in 1994’s cult classic, Pulp Fiction. Willis later voiced the baby Mikey in Look Who’s Talking and its sequel in 1989 and 1999. Travolta played on screen as his father, James.

All About Bruce Willis In ‘Pulp Fiction’

Before Pulp Fiction became an 90s classic, it was the first independent film to gross over $100 million at the box office.

As an indie movie, they tried to save money. Director Quentin Tarantino actually loaned his cherry-red convertible to Travolta’s character Vincent to drive in the movie. Unfortunately, the car was stolen from the set but was later found in 2013 in Oakland, California. A group of teenagers was scrapping the famous car for parts but, luckily, the car was recovered before damage was done.

Bruce Willis agreed to a pay cut to play Butch Coolidge. He made just $800,000. Instead, he got a percentage of the profits of the movie. At the end of the day, the movie made $213 million at the box office.

In another twist, Mickey Rourke was set to portray the character first. Rourke turned it down to focus on his sports career. “Indie King” Harvey Keitel was the person who got Bruce Willis to sign on to the project. They first worked together in Mortal Thoughts back in 1991 and remained friends.
