Most of us know Michael Weatherly from his roles on NCIS or Bull, not to mention he’s a producer and director. Though he plays a doctor on Bull, it turns out his wife of more than 10 years is an actual doctor and a reputable one at that.

Bojana Jankovic was born in Serbia and is an award-winning physician. Hollywood Life divulges more details about her, such as her being double board-certified in internal and integrative medicine. Additionally, she’s won Southern California Top Doctors’ Rising Star in 2016 and 2017, Top Doctor recognition in 2018, and numerous patient satisfaction awards. She attended the University of British Columbia and completed her Internal Medicine residency at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Jankovic also often appears on television as a health consultant. For instance, she’s appeared on TODAY, MSNBC, and Rachael Ray. On top of that, she’s dabbled in film and TV too. In this area, she worked as both a writer and assistant director. Her projects included a Serbian TV series TVWWW and a short film, Do Not Leave Me with Strangers.

But what about the million-dollar question: how did she meet Weatherly? According to PEOPLE, in 2007, the two were at a Vancouver bar and it was love at first sight. Funnily, Michael’s friend asked him if he was lonely, to which he replied he was pretty happy. However, “I kept looking out of the corner of my eye and seeing this ravishing, gorgeous beauty,” he told PEOPLE. “We made eye contact. And that was it.”

After hearing she was going to Paris, he flew all the way there to see her again and the rest is history. The two have been married since 2009 and have two children together.

Michael Weatherly Talked About Leaving ‘NCIS,’ Saying he Felt ‘Constrained’

Starring as Anthony DiNozzo on NCIS was Michael Weatherly’s most prominent role. Nonetheless, upon leaving the show, he said he felt “constrained.”

After leaving the show in 2016, Weatherly spoke to TVLine about the experience and why he left. “You can’t be in that No. 2 slot [on Gibbs’ team] forever,” he admitted. “That started to feel constrained to me.” It’s understandable what he means when he said that. Most of us watching always thought of him as second in command or Gibbs’ sidekick. If memory serves, one episode even had McGee commenting on how he wanted the No. 2 spot when DiNozzo left.

That’s not to say he didn’t relish the opportunity. In fact, according to him, the most difficult part about leaving was deciding to leave. “I always appreciated the gift of the job, but the hardest part of the whole experience was thinking, ‘Oh, no…. I think it’s time I have to leave.'”
