Candace Cameron Bure Fires Back After Family New Year’s Pic Slapped with Harsh Criticism

by Emily Morgan

Candace Cameron Bure is under fire again after she attempted to give some words of encouragement to fans.

As a way to kick off the New Year, the former child star shared a family photo via Instagram, wishing fans a happy and joyous 2021.

“Happy New Year from the Bures!! Looking forward to what 2021 has in store. I’m praying for unity, grace, humility, compassion and love for mankind. With God, all things are possible. Sending virtual hugs and kisses! XO,” Bure captioned the photo, which features herself, her husband, Valeri Bure, and their children.

She’s now facing criticism after her followers commented that the photo looked “weird” and like “a Ralph Lauren” ad. The backlash didn’t stop there: users also mocked some of her children’s’ expressions.

Bure was quick to respond to the negative feedback.

“Wow- I post a family photo and you all find everything you don’t like about it or can make fun of. Do better than that. Please,” Bure wrote.

The “Fuller House” star also noted that photographer Melissa Coulier, wife of Bure’s co-star Dave Coulier, took the photo. The married couple and their youngest son, Maksim, flash smiles for the photo, while her daughter, Natasha, and son, Lev, opt for more serious faces as they pose.

After Natasha saw the backlash she received over her expression, she sarcastically responded with, “Omg!!!! I didn’t smile or look at the camera sue me!!!”

She finished the comment by adding one word: “Vibes.”

Fellow Celebrities Quick To Show Support For Candace Cameron Bure

Even though the photo was overwhelmed with negative responses, some of Bure’s famous followers quickly showed their support.

“Pretty in white,” actress Kristin Chenoweth replied, referring to the form-fitting dress Bure wears in the snap.

“The most beautiful family inside and out,” trainer Kira Stokes commented.

“I’m buyin what ur sellin!” celebrity hair stylist Paul Norton said.

Former Disney star Christy Carlson Romano also showed her support, writng, “Slayyyyyy Bures!!!!”

Bure’s defense of the photo comes months after social media users shamed her for posting a picture with her husband depicting him holding one of her breasts.

As a result, the post did not play well to some in her Christian fan base, who quickly responded with critical remarks. At the time, Bure felt no remorse for sharing the cheeky pic, writing, “Classic Val. He approved this post.”
