Actress Candace Cameron Bure is firing back to let the world know that her personality isn’t “fake” just because she is such a happy person.
The Full House and Fuller House star wants everyone to know that her 24-7 positivity is completely genuine. However, critics on the internet have half a mind to disagree.
The 45-year-old actress even made an appearance on the Bob Saget’s Here For You podcast on Monday. It was there where she asked her former co-star if he would address the rumors. The two started working together back in 1987 on the set of Full House. Saget, of course, played Danny Tanner, while Bure starred as his oldest daughter, DJ. Full House aired for eight seasons and then the two reunited for the Netflix revival, Fuller House. That went on for five more seasons, having wrapped up last summer.
With that said, Bob Saget is likely the most credible person to address the recent rumors about Candace Cameron Bure. Having worked together for nearly 15 years and been friends for even more, there is no doubt that the two stars know each other well. As a result, It only made sense for Saget to be the one to come forward and speak out.
Candace Cameron Bure and Bob Saget Discuss Rumors on His Podcast
The two Full House stars met back up via podcast on April 12. While Candace Cameron Bure wasn’t asking for a handout of compliments, she did want her former TV dad to explain that her personality is not just a front.
“I’m going to ask you for a second,” Bure said on the podcast. “For those people that think that because I am a happy, positive person, that I must be a fake person, would you say that is true or false?”
“You are the opposite of fake,” Saget replied. “And I’m sorry — you’re perky sometimes. What’s wrong with being perky?”
Bure said that normally she doesn’t let negative comments and trolls get to her. However, this particular one about “not being as happy as she seems” really got to Fuller House star.
“Thank you,” the mother of three said. “I only ask that because sometimes you read comments, and most of them, they roll off my back. But when people are annoyed at me that I’m such a happy person… I was like, let someone speak into this that has known me since I was nine years old.”
Meanwhile, the Monday discussion with Saget was just the latest example of Candace Cameron Bure firing back at critics. She recently defended herself over who she chooses to follow on Instagram. And in addition, she also responded to “haters” that commented on her family’s holiday photo.
