Candace Cameron Bure Opens Up About How Quarantine ‘Tested’ Her Marriage

Candace Cameron Bure said she looked at quarantine as a stress test for her marriage. She and husband Valeri Bure decided the experience would either make them or break them, according to Page Six.

“I’ll be honest because we try. We both travel so much,” she told Page Six. “So we were like, ‘This might be the most amount of time we’ve actually spent together in years. This is either going to make us or break us.’ And you know what? It’s made us.”

The Fuller House star, 44, and former NHL standout, 46, have been married for 24 years. They have three adult children.

But being completely locked in under such a stressful situation was something they’d never experienced, which meant it could have gone either way. Candace said she wanted to use the experience to add more perspective and depth into their relationship.

“So many things are put in perspective just being at home, and then you talk through a lot of things and you realize, ‘What are the things we have to work on? What are the things that are working well?’” she said. “I’m really grateful that it’s the one thing that I can look at 2020 — as crazy as this year has been and difficult — and I’m so grateful for my family time because I’ve reevaluated my work schedule, the time that I’m away from my family, and realized that that was not a good balance for me.”

The Bure’s Marriage Has Been Big Topic in 2020

While Candace and Valeri were re-imaging their lives while stuck in quarantine, many others were doing the same to the Hollywood couple’s marriage. During the summer, a photo of the couple on Candace’s Instagram caused a social media firestorm. That’s because, in the photo, Valeri’s hand was on her breast.

Cameron Bure said she has no regrets about posting the photo. She said she was happy to show her 4.5 million Instagram followers that a couple married for 24 years “can still have some spice and sexiness.”

Though she was annoyed that they would judge someone else’s marriage. She told TMZ she is tired of talking about the photo, as she’s doesn’t know why it went viral in the first place.

“He can touch me any time he wants, and I hope he does,” Candace Cameron Bure said. “This is what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about.”
