Candace Cameron Bure said that she and her husband were able to work through some of the problems in their marriage during the COVID-19 quarantine. The ex Fuller House star and her former hockey pro husband used the downtime to strengthen their relationship.

Cameron Bure told Us Weekly that they were able to get a lot of things off of their chest and discuss the problems “eating away” at their marriage. The couple got married in 1996 and have three kids together. Valeri Bure retired from the NHL in 2005 after 10 seasons.

“When you’re all in a house together for [over a year], you have to start talking about the things you kind of avoid because of work and travel and all that stuff,” she told the magazine.

“We just pushed through some of the things that were eating away at both of us.”

Though, she admitted that it wasn’t easy. But they treated it like ripping off a Band-Aid. Except that there will be some early discomfort. But she says they understand each other better now.

“There are hurt feelings for a minute,” she said. “Then there’s pouting for a minute and there’s anger for a minute. And then you kind of go, well, ‘How are we going to figure it out? And what decisions are we going to make? How do we come to a compromise in a way that you feel good?’ So, that’s just what we did. And that’s what marriage is really all about, but it was kind of thrown in your face during quarantine.”

Candace Cameron Bure Pushes Back Against Critics

No marriage is perfect, but the Bures still seem to have fun. Last year, a photo of the couple went viral when people noticed his hand was over her chest.

The couple was inundated with comments and criticism, something Candace Cameron Bure never understood. She’s since taken the photo down.

“For all of the Christians that are questioning my post with my husband’s hand on my boob — my husband of 24 years — thinking it was inappropriate, it makes me laugh because it’s my husband. We have so much fun together,” Cameron Bure said to the The Daily Mail.

She also said that it was a sign of a healthy and happy marriage. It seems those tough discussions they had during quarantine paid off.

“He can touch me any time he wants, and I hope he does,” said Cameron Bure. “This is what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about. I’m sorry if it offended you — I’m actually not sorry. I’m glad we have fun together after so many years. He can touch me all day long.”
