Last year, Candice Cameron Bure received immense backlash after she posted a photo of her and her husband where his hand is over her breast. Critics tried to shame the former Fuller House star for the candid PDA. But one person who wasn’t bothered by the photo was their daughter, Natasha.
In fact, the 23-year-old told fans during an Instagram Q&A last week that it’s her “fave pic” of her parents, Fox News reported.
Part of that may be because Candace Cameron Bure and her husband never hid their affection for one another.
“I’ve always been an open person when it comes to all that stuff and I’ve never publicly said it, but all my friends know that and my kids know that, and obviously my husband knows that,’ the 45-year-old actress told Entertainment Tonight last year.
As an example, their son Lev took the now-infamous photo, she told the Confessions of a Crappy Christian podcast.
“Most of you love that post that you just saw,” she said, defending the photo last year. “And for all of the Christians that are questioning my post with my husband’s hand on my boob — my husband of 24 years — thinking it was inappropriate, it makes me laugh because it’s my husband. We have so much fun together.”
“He can touch me any time he wants, and I hope he does,” she continued. “This is what a healthy, good marriage and relationship is all about. I’m sorry if it offended you — I’m actually not sorry. I’m glad we have fun together after so many years. He can touch me all day long.”
Candace Cameron Bure said she tried to teach her children that sex and “spice” are important parts of a marriage.
“As a mom, I have already tried to have my influence with my kids to be like, ‘Dude, once you’re married, have fun! This is the blessing of it and it’s great’.”
Candace Cameron Bure Sorry for Holy Spirit Vid
Last month, Candace Cameron Bure posted a TikTok where she dances to Lana Del Rey’s song “Jealous Girl,” while holding a Bible. It was a strange video. But Bure said she was only trying to show the “power of the Holy Spirit.”
She didn’t mean for it to come off as sexual and apologized for offending people.
“I usually don’t apologize for these things, but a lot of you thought it was weird and I’m sorry,” she said, adding her daughter gave her the idea for the video. “That was not my intention. I was using a very specific clip from TikTok and applying it to the power of the Holy Spirit which is incredible.
“So many of you thought I was trying to be seductive, which clearly means I’m not a very good actress because I was trying to be strong, not sexy, or seductive, so I guess that didn’t work. But I deleted it,” she continued. “Maybe I was just trying to be too cool or relevant in a Biblical way that didn’t work? Anyway, most of you didn’t like it, clearly. But there was a small percentage of you that appreciated what I did and understood my intention. But anyway. It’s gone. Now I know what you don’t like.”
