People have seen her on Tiger King. Now they’ll see Carole Baskin dance. In a move that will surely make Joe Exotic jealous, Baskin will be joining Dancing With the Stars for their 2020 season.

Baskin is the owner of Big Cat Rescue and considers herself an animal rights activist. Her mission statement is to stop the exploitation and breeding of tigers. The Netflix documentary covered her rivalry and animosity with Exotic, who owned a tiger zoo in Oklahoma. A judge sentenced Exotic to 22 years in prison for a plot to kill Baskin and for killing tigers, according to the Daily Beast.

Carole Baskin criticized ‘Tiger King’ for inaccuracies.

Since the documentary’s release, Baskin has been critical of the finished product. She called it misleading. The documentary also explores the mysterious disappearance of her second husband Don Lewis. Lewis disappeared in 1997. Authorities have declared him legally dead. The documentary also acknowledges the possibility Baskin may have been involved in his disappearance. Since the show aired, Baskin has become a meme online.

“I just feel so angry that people have totally missed the point,” Baskin told the Tampa Bay Times. “And the point is these cubs are being abused and exploited and the public is enabling that.”

Baskin joins a lineup that includes rapper Nelly, One Day at a Time actor Justina Machad, Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean, Netflix’s Cheer head coach Monica Aldama, Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe, Olympic figure skater Johnny Weir, Super Bowl champion Vernon Davis, Disney Channel star Skai Jackson, Catfish host Nev Schulman, NBA player Charles Oakley, actress Anne Heche, The Real host Jeannie Mai, and Selling Sunset real estate agent Chrishell Stause.

Supermodel and businesswoman Tyra Banks will host the upcoming season. The new season premieres on Monday, Sept. 14 on ABC.
