‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’: Watch Stars Have Fun and Compete in New Trailer

by John Jamison

January marked the first dedicated season of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune.” In the past, the long-running game show has dabbled in themed weeks that have featured celebrities like NFL stars. But now, Season 2 of the full celebrity version is set to premiere in prime time at the end of September. The show’s Instagram account posted a promotional video giving fans a sneak peek into the star-studded wheel-spinning action.

“Wheel ” fans can take solace in the fact that “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” will be played by the game’s traditional rules. The celebrity contestants can win up to $1 million, with one of the major differences being all of their winnings go to a charity of their choice.

Further, episodes of the celebrity version last an hour as opposed to 30 minutes. The show has also changed time slots, moving from Thursday to Sunday nights. There are a few minor changes to the game. There will apparently be no Express card on the wheel, for example.

The video features a preview of what to expect from the “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” Season 2 lineup of stars.

The celebrities appear to have had a great time with Pat Sajak and Vanna White. There are laughs aplenty, a fair amount of dancing, and plenty of all-around silliness.

“I signed on knowing I stink,” says “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Jeff Garlin.

“You’re supposed to do the dumbed-down version for celebrities,” jokes “Seinfeld” legend Jason Alexander.

The full list of stars set to appear on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” this season is as follows:

What to Expect From ‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’

Season 39 of the regular “Wheel of Fortune” is also coming in September. Fans will have the luxury of two different versions at the same time. While many can’t wait for the regular show to return, they’re also wondering what Season 2 of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” has to offer.

“We’ve jazzed up the set a bit, made it look a little more prime-timey, whatever that means,” Sajak said. “And it’s going to be a different kind of vibe. We want (the contestants) to play a good, solid game, but we’re mainly there to have fun. It’ll be a little lighter in attitude,” Sajak said ahead of the first season in January.

If Season 1 was any indication, Season 2 of the prime time game show promises a ton of fun.
