Renowned actor Chevy Chase seems to have found a new calling posting hilarious videos on his Instagram account. Sharing a ukelele “jam session” a few days ago, Chase followed that up with a video about “loosing cognitive abilities.”
Not even captioning the video, it speaks for itself. It begins with Chase holding a bundle of papers, the first of which reads “They say after a man reaches 70, he looses cognitive abilitiveties… well…”
Normally in videos like this, the front page is dropped to reveal another message on the page behind it, and so forth. However, Chase losing his cognitive abilities, drops the pages behind the front one, leaving the initial message on the screen. What really sells the video is how Chase manages to stay stonefaced throughout the entire thing.
Despite only posting it a few hours ago, it already has more than 20,000 likes. The comments are littered with laughing emojis and one of Chase’s followers proclaiming “Chevy Chase, the GREATEST of ALL TIME.”
Another commented on his legacy, stating “you sir haven’t lost it one bit! Still have me laughing after 33 years.”
Celebrating His Wife’s Birthday, Chevy Chase Makes Special Request A In Video Message
While known for his comedies, Chevy Chase also posts heartwarming moments, like the one he did yesterday for his wife, Jayni Chase. Celebrating her birthday, Chase made a special video request on Instagram on her behalf.
“Hi, it’s my wife @jaynichase ‘s Birthday and I would love help from my friends and family to raise funds to support one of her favorite enviro orgs on the planet, @friends_earth ! I’m so excited to help the work they do I’m going to match the first $2000 given by all of you.”
So, please make her BDay Wish come true – reach into your virtual wallet and donate whatever you can.”
Both Chase and his wife are active environmentalists, as well as philanthropists, so his request is probably one of the best gifts she could have asked for.
Jayni’s charity of choice is called Friends of the Earth, an environmental non-profit. Unsurprising, considering she authored “Blueprint for a Green School,” which has over 75,000 different conservation information sources.
“Together we speak truth to power and expose those who endanger the health of people and the planet for corporate profit,” the organization’s website reads.
“We organize to build long-term political power and campaign to change the rules of our economic and political systems that create injustice and destroy nature.”
The organization’s actions include helping end the Keystone XL Pipeline. It also addresses air pollution and protecting the Arctic from drilling.
