Chicago Fire star Kara Killmer wants one member of the Brett family to finally appear on the show. Killmer, of course, plays Sylvie Brett on the hit series, the hardworking paramedic. In an interview that took place last November, the Sylvie Brett actress went into detail about what she want to see happen within the family.

“First of all, I love children. I love babies. I have 16 nieces and nephews. So I’m all for spending time with the babies and whatnot,” she told Telltale TV last November. “I think the writers did want that to be a huge part of Sylvie’s life, and I think they would like for that to still be a big part of her storyline, but we are in the middle of a pandemic.”

This means that Sylvie Brett’s kids aren’t really a part of her storyline thus far. More kids means more complications and more people on set.

“I so want to play with a little sister as soon as possible. And I think that’s so Sylvie, too. I think she’s totally got the big sister or like, mommy vibe about her. It was such a gut-punch losing her birth mom,” she said. A little sister would be a great figure to have on set, and a fun expansion to the Brett family as we know it.

The ‘Chicago Fire’ Actress has Loved Working with Brett Family Actors

One of the reasons Killmer may be excited to get a new Brett into the mix is that working with Brett family actors has gone so well before.

“And Kelly Deadmon, who played Julie, was so wonderful. They could not have cast someone better to play Sylvie’s mom. Her and I really got along. And so we hung out outside of that. We went and got pedicures and we spent Valentine’s Day together and went and got coffee and shopped. I mean, we had ourselves a grand time. So when she left, I was so bummed because we became good friends,” Killmer explained.

Thankfully for Killmer, plenty of friendships have formed within the regular cast, who’s been on the show for years now. But there’s been plenty of change ups recently. Matt Casey actor Jesse Spencer recently left Chicago Fire after working on the show as one of its leads for ten seasons.

Casey made the move to work on other projects and spend time with family. It’s a huge blow to Kara Killmer’s character along with the rest of the squad, but now, a replacement must be found.

If you want to catch the cast of Chicago Fire in new episodes, you can tune in to NBC every Wednesday at 9/8 Central following its return from hiatus on December 8th.
