What will the next season be about? There will be no time jump, so things will pick up where we left off. The team was in Lake Michigan with an attempted rescue that went south. Fans speculate that a member of the team may not make it out alive. Lieutenant Kelly Severide (Taylor Kinney), Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso), Tony (Anthony Ferraris), and Capp (Randy Flagler) were all underwater.

This brings us to the next cliffhanger, will Cruz become a father? He’s trapped underwater and Chloe was concerned about his safety of the safety of his job.

Fans are also expecting Boden (Eammon Walker) to accept or deny the deputy district chief job. What will happen for the current chief?

New Changes

This season will also feature the series’ milestone 200th episode. The team is hoping to complete 22 episodes for the tenth season. During last season, only sixteen were made due to COVID-19 protocols and pandemic interference.

Sadly, Gianna Mackey (Adriyan Rae) will be leaving the show. Fans saw her get transferred to another firehouse for the chance at a future promotion. Showrunner Derek Haas revealed that she needed to leave the series for “personal reasons.”

“All I can say is we love her and I know she’s going to be great on some other series,” he told Entertianment Weekly. “And she left 51 on great terms, so there’s a chance we could check in on her. We’re always looking for something to boost up a crossover! I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Mackey in Firehouse 51.”

Paramedic Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) will be taking the place of Mackey in Ambulance 61. She has become a series regular.

‘Chicago Fire’ Blast From The Past?

Chicago Fire fans are eagerly awaiting the wedding for Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd. However, this isn’t the first time that the lieutenant has walked down the aisle. During Season 3, he wed graphic designer Brittany Baker in a Las Vegas ceremony after meeting at a craps table. Although their relationship was brief, actress Serinda Swan became a fan favorite.

In a new interview with TV Line, Swan revealed that she would like to make a return to the series.

“People still ask me about it all the time,” she shared. Swan later added that she “would be down for [Brittany] to just randomly show up one season and mess things up a bit for him again.”
