“Chicago PD” has been known to have time jumps within its plots over the seasons. Should the NBC show’s fans prepare for a major one?
Much like the Boy Scouts motto of “Be prepared,” that might be good advice for “Chicago PD” fans entering its ninth season. What we can tell you Outsiders is the season premiere is set for Wednesday, Sept. 22, at 10 p.m. Eastern, 9 p.m. Central. That will be on your local NBC channel, according to an article from One Chicago Center.
There are some “cliffhanger” situations that are awaiting Season 9. For instance, Halstead, played by Jesse Lee Soffer, will have to answer Tracy, played by Tracy Spiridakos, about her suggestion around getting married. We know there are others, too.
Reportedly, “Chicago PD” is simply going to roar back onto TV screens and start the new season where it left off last season.
The show is one of that Wednesday night “Chicago” franchise of shows from creator Dick Wolf. Yes, that’s the same Dick Wolf who created the “Law & Order” franchise, too.
‘Chicago PD’ Fans, Others Offered Words Of Condolence After Markie Post’s Death
Well, “Chicago PD” fans came out in full force after news of star Markie Post’s death broke.
Post, who played Barbara “Bunny” Fletcher through the second and fourth seasons, died on Aug. 7 after a long battle with cancer.
“RIP to Markie Post, a truly great actress who starred as Christine Sullivan on the TV show Night Court,” one fan wrote. “This feels too soon, especially since Charlie Robinson passed away just last month. Very sad news this Sunday.”
Sophia Bush, who played Detective Erin Lindsay on “Chicago PD” for the show’s first four seasons, also expressed her love for Post.
“I’m just heartbroken at the news of Markie’s passing … she was a rock,” Bush wrote on Twitter. “A light. A great friend and a phenomenal scene partner. She brought sunshine everywhere she went. Prayers.”
Post played Bush’s character’s mother in the NBC police show.
Netflix Doesn’t Show Crossover Event Involving ‘Law & Order: SVU’
When you think about it, having one of Wolf’s other shows make a crossover into another one makes some sense.
One time, “Chicago PD” had a crossover spot with “Law & Order: SVU” in one of the “Chicago PD” episodes. Remember, both shows and franchises are creations of Wolf.
Anyway, streaming service Netflix carries “Law & Order: SVU” episodes. But not “Chicago PD” ones. Fans looking for “Comic Perversion” will remember in that episode, there was one clip leading to “SVU” popping up on “Chicago PD.”
But that clip is not showing up on the Netflix version since, according to IMDb, Netflix doesn’t stream “Chicago PD.” Therefore, that clip gets clipped.
