Chrissy Teigen Appears on Instagram for First Time in Weeks After Cyberbullying Allegations

Chrissy Teigen is back on social media after weeks of online backlash. Well, sorta. She reappeared on her husband John Legend’s Instagram in a post.

Teigen herself seemingly isn’t ready to get her social media back just yet. But she’s testing the fires of Instagram through her husband’s account. Legend posted a picture of Teigen holding the couple’s daughter. He captioned the post with, “So proud of our little dancer.”

The couple shares two children together. Prior to her recent controversy, Teigen sometimes used her social media platforms to share parenting tips. But for the past few weeks, Teigen’s accounts have gone dark and quiet, unheard of for someone who spent so much time on the platform.

Chrissy Teigen Apologizes For Bullying

In fact, Teigen’s last Twitter post came all the way back on May 12th. She used the opportunity to apologize for recent bullying allegations. Courtney Stodden accused Teigen of cyberbullying and shared messages Teigen reportedly sent. At the time, Stodden made headlines for marrying 51-year-old Doug Hutchison in 2011. Stodden was just 16 at the time.

Reportedly, Teigen encouraged Stodden to commit suicide in a series of online messages. Recently, Stodden went public with the messages. As a result, many major brands dropped Teigen. Additionally, Teigen recently took a step back from a Netflix series she planned to provide voiceover work for. Instead, Netflix will recast the role in light of the current controversy.

Teigen used her last posts on Twitter to apologize. She wrote, “Not a lot of people are lucky enough to be held accountable for all their past bullshit in front of the entire world. I’m mortified and sad at who I used to be. I was an insecure, attention-seeking troll. I am ashamed and completely embarrassed at my behavior.”

She continued, “But that is nothing compared to how I made Courtney feel. I have worked so hard to give you guys joy and be beloved and the feeling of letting you down is nearly unbearable, truly. These were not my only mistakes and surely won’t be my last as hard as I try but god I will try!!”

In addition to the message, Teigen said she reached out and privately apologized to Stodden as well. But Stodden reported that Teigen never sent a direct apology. Stodden believed Teigen’s public apology was to save her endorsements from dropping her. Since then, Teigen has kept a relatively low profile.
