Actor Daniel Craig donated over $13,600 to three fathers who lost their young daughters to suicide.

Daniel Craig’s generous donation goes towards the charity walk called 3 Dads Walking. This is an organization developed by the three fathers in memory of their beautiful daughters; each of whom they lost to suicide.

Their goal in the journey is to also bring awareness to the issue that causes so much loss and heartbreak to families around the world.

The three fathers began their 300-mile trek Saturday in an effort to raise awareness for suicide prevention charity Papyrus.

The three fathers’ hope is to spare other families from the agonizing losses they have felt due to the tragedy of suicide.

For the fathers, Andy Airey, Mike Palmer, and Tim Owen, Daniel Craig’s generous donation was a very welcome surprise.

“As dads, we have three different stories to tell, but each has the same tragic ending. The devastating loss of a daughter to suicide,” said Andy Airey of the trio’s suicide prevention efforts.

“Daniel Craig has clearly been moved by the indescribable pain we and our families are suffering and wants to help us to bring something positive out of the utter devastation of losing a child to suicide,” continued Airey, whose daughter, Sophie took her own life in 2018.

‘We’d like to say a big thank you to Daniel,” the grieving father adds. “And every single person who has supported us so far.”

Daniel Craigs Selfless Donation

Initially, Daniel Craig had no interest in a large recognition for his donation.

However, with such a large sum of funding, the charity teams decided to trace the money…which led them to Craig.

“It’s been done very discreetly notes Peter Holland a representative of the Papyrus charity.

“It was us that traced it back to Daniel Craig,” Holland continued. “Rather than his management coming to us to say this is what he’s done, which makes it all the more fantastic.”

Fathers Dedicated To Sharing Their Stories To Help Others

“3 Dads Walking is not a club I want to belong to,” says Mike Palmer.

Palmer lost his seventeen-year-old daughter to suicide in March of 2020.

“But along with Andy and Tim it gives us, as fathers, an opportunity to fight back and maybe make a difference,” the father continues. “We hope that by linking our three homes and telling our three daughters’ very different stories we will put a spotlight on young mental health and ultimately the brutal effects of suicide.”

“I strongly believe that in a moment of darkness my daughter made the wrong decision,” notes Tim Owen.

Owen lost his daughter, nineteen-year-old Emily to suicide in March of 2020 as well.

“Two minutes earlier or later it would have been different,” the father continues.

‘Had she just taken time to think or to speak to someone, her decision and my family’s lives would be on another path,” Owen explains. “Instead she decided she could no longer go on, leaving behind a devastating ripple effect on her family and friends.”

This, the 3 Dads Walking group adds, is part of their effort. The focus is in bringing awareness to suicide prevention, and the efforts put forth by the Papyrus charity.
