Did you ever wonder, Outsiders, what those captains out at sea on “Deadliest Catch” might have in their fridges? Yeah, we did, too.

Sig Hansen, who captains the “F/V Northwestern,” offered up an answer in an interview with Channel Guide Magazine.

“There’s always ground beef because you can do so much with that,” he said. “So much milk, and that boxed milk because it doesn’t go bad. And there’s always bait in our freezer. And we never leave the dock without an abundance of coffee.”

So that’s ground beef, milk, bait, and coffee. Sounds like an interesting night for a bachelor on the shore. But that’s not the case as “Deadliest Catch” keeps viewers tuned into the action in the Bering Sea.

‘Deadliest Catch’ Has ‘TV-14’ Rating On It Because Language Can Get A Little Rough

The show, which has been on for 17 seasons, can be seen on the Discovery Channel.

One of the things that show producers have to watch for is, well, sometimes racy language. The show gets a “TV-14” rating because of that very thing.

Now when accidents happen or someone uses their hands for a, um, sign to a fellow team member, that gets pixilated. So as hard as you try to see what happens or what someone did, that’s not going to work.

Besides Hansen, other captains on “Deadliest Catch” include Josh Harris, Casey McManus, Mandy Hansen (Sig’s daughter), Jake Anderson, “Wild” Bill Wichrowski, Johnathan Hillstrand, Josh Harris, and Keith and Monte Colburn.

Mandy Hansen Keeps Her Eyes on the High Seas, Understands The Challenges Out There

By the way, Mandy Hansen keeps her eyes busy on what’s happening with her crew. She knows that people might be wondering if she’s concerned about what her dad thinks as she’s on the ocean waters.

She discusses that in an interview with Hollywood Soapbox.

Mandy just keeps her focus on her family and crew, nor does she worry about anyone else on the high seas. The “Deadliest Catch” captain wanted to prove herself to those who have invested time and helped her.

The captain knows there are tests in the crab fishing world. Look at her and others on a “Deadliest Catch” show.

Mandy talked about seeing huge waves go over the boat.

“That’s the only scary part,” she said. “You don’t realize it’s that dangerous until you get one of those waves pop up.”

These days, she’s just one of the captains out there doing their work. Sig Hansen has to be proud of how his daughter handles herself under an onslaught of pressure and decisions.

But Mandy Hansen gets out there and starts making sure her crew members are doing their jobs. She keeps her eyes on the prize.
