Move aside, ladies, Dog the Bounty Hunter is officially hitched. The reality star posted a photo on Instagram of himself and his now-wife, Francie Frane, decked out in their wedding attire. He captioned the photo, “Yes knot is tied!!”

The two met when Dog the Bounty Hunter called Francie Frane’s husband Bob, needing an excavator; he did not know that Bob had recently passed. Frane listened to the message and called back, but didn’t know she was talking to a reality TV star. Frane joked that she would go on a date with Chapman if he “went to church” with her; he did, and the service ended with them holding hands. The couple was engaged in May 2020.

On Instagram, some fans were ecstatic for the couple’s marriage, wishing them love and happiness in the comments. Others were not so generous, claiming it’s too soon for him to be marrying again, and that “Beth is turning over in her grave.” A bit harsh, when you consider how Duane Chapman and Francie Frane got together.

Dog the Bounty Hunter: Bonding Over Grief

In an interview with ET from 2020, Duane Chapman, AKA Dog the Bounty Hunter, and Francie Frane are clearly in love; it’s hard not to see it written all over their faces, and in the matching hand tattoos they both sport. Chapman claims he and Frane helped each other heal from the loss of their spouses; he lost his wife Beth to cancer in 2019. Six months later, Frane lost her husband Bob to cancer as well.

Chapman “knew right away this was love,’ he told ET. The two speak of God bringing them together through their spouses, and the ways that they celebrate the loved ones they lost. “We were able to walk alongside each other through the pain and heartbreak,” Frane said, “and it brought us together in this amazing way.”

Frane spoke about how the two are still grieving, and the ways in which they will never leave Bob or Beth behind. Chapman plans to return every year with his family to Beth’s favorite place, the Platte River in Colorado, in order to celebrate her life.

What’s Next for Duane Chapman?

Dog the Bounty Hunter has been over for 9 years, but that hasn’t stopped the titular Dog. Recently, he starred in a semi-autobiographical drama called Hunter’s Creed, which came out in October 2020. He plays himself in the film; a recent widower who reunites with church friends to film the hunting show they always wanted. He later goes toe to toe with death and faith, as there’s something dark lurking in the woods.

Said director Justin Jackola of Hunter’s Creed, “It’s a film about seeking truth and finding yourself, and if you know anything about Dog’s personal story, you know he embodies exactly that.” Sounds like Dog the Bounty Hunter was the perfect fit, channeling his personal life into the film. Here’s to his continued happiness with his new wife.
