Fans of Dog the Bounty Hunter will have to wait a bit longer for the first episode of “Dog Unleashed”, his upcoming show, due to “a major health risk” to his team.

Duane “Dog” Chapman, known the world over as Dog the Bounty Hunter, is having to delay his new show. The bounty hunting show, “Dog Unleashed”, is the latest unscripted series from Chapman focusing on his exploits. This time, however, he’s forgoing the bail bond skippers and committing his time to rooting out the worst criminals hiding in America. Promising the strongest pulls from Dog the Bounty Hunter yet, “Unleashed” sees the seasoned vet go after rapists, murderers, and child molesters alike. Here’s to hoping he brings ’em all in.

Chapman had originally announced the show for a New Year’s Day 2021 premiere date. In addition, the show is to bolster the new crime-justice entertainment streaming service, Unleashed!. All of this will now have to wait, though, as Chapman has just announced that the series is being put on hold.

‘Dog Unleashed’ Delayed Due To Health Concerns

Taking to Twitter today, Dog the Bounty Hunter is letting fans know that the first episode of “Dog Unleashed” has been postponed until later. The reason? COVID-19.

“Our first episode of “Dog Unleashed” originally scheduled for January 1, 2021 has been postponed until later, due to Covid19,” Chapman begins. ” Like many businesses across the country, Covid-19 has affected us a great deal and delayed production as it has with many other shows,” he adds.

While this may come as a disappointment to fans, it is more than understandable. Bounty hunting, no doubt, is a full-contact process and profession. As a result, any and all participants in Chapman’s new show would constantly run the risk of exposing themselves, and all others in their lives, to COVID-19. And at 67-years-old with pre-existing conditions, Chapman is at high risk for the virus.

“Arresting someone right now is a major health risk to our team, and our crew,” he continues in a second tweet. “With the new Vaccines arriving now, we hope to get back to filming very soon. My team and I apologize for the delay, but stay tuned,  #DogUnleashed is coming !  Love you all!!”
