Is Dog the Bounty Hunter getting a new television show?
On Wednesday, August 25, Duane Chapman announced his upcoming series in an Instagram post. In addition, he confirmed that the former reality star alongside him, Bobby Brown, will be on the show.
“Yes, One of my best friends Bobby Brown will be part of My new show Beware Of Dog, Coming Soon !!!!” he teased in the caption. It is unclear which network or platform this will air on.
The Wedding Fiasco
Furthermore, this latest news comes as he is fighting with his daughters Bonnie and Cecily Chapman prior to his September wedding to Francie Frane. His daughters were not invited to his wedding. Despite Dog the Bounty Hunter initially saying that he could never love again after his wife Beth Chapman’s passing in 2019, the girls are not upset with his decision to remarry. This decision was allegedly all on Dog.
“What I’m seeing personally is that my dad is having a hard time dealing with the fact that maybe he’s not gonna be able to replace my mom and that maybe me and Bonnie bring out a lot from my mom and that he sees our mom in us,” Cecily told TMZ. “I feel like that scares him. Yes, he can move on, yes he can get married again — that’s not the problem. I think he’s just scared that we remind him too much of our mother.”
Despite her beliefs, Garry, the son of Dog and Beth, was invited to the wedding.
“We love Cecily and Bonnie very much, as we do all of our family. We pray for their health and happiness every day. Beyond this statement, we wish to keep any family issues private,” a statement from the couple read.
Dog the Bounty Hunter Series Fail
Last year, Dog the Bounty Hunter was working on a series for UnleashedTV called Dog Unleashed. Unfortunately, the series never saw the light of day as the network accused him of violating his contract by reportedly using racist and homophobic language.
“Our internal investigation confirmed racist and homophobic comments from Mr. Chapman, as well as illegal activity during filming, which Unleashed Entertainment cannot and will not tolerate,” a statement from the production company read. Dog’s daughters, Bonnie and Cecily, have continued to work with the network on the social justice show The System, which Bonnie claims is why she and Cecily were not invited to his upcoming wedding.
The Drama Explained
Meanwhile, Bonnie and Cecily have been featured on the show The System, which airs on the same network. The show focuses on racial inequality and social justice issues that people face today.
Firstly, Bonnie told the outlet that her father does not support the Black Lives Matter movement. Secondly, Dog the Bounty Hunter allegdly calls protestors “thugs” among other terms.
Additionally, Bonnie Chapman released an alleged text from Frane via TMZ. Furthermore, Frane allegedly says that the two are working with the network that “stabbed him in the back.”
Finally, Frane even referenced their deceased mother. She wrote, “We love how the two of you in different ways like your mom.”
