The saying, “like mother, like daughter,” perfectly describes the spitting image between Dog the Bounty Hunter‘s daughter and her late mother Beth Chapman.
The daughter of the famous Hawaiian bounty hunter, Duane “Dog” Chapman, and his beloved late ex-wife Beth, is looking more and more like her mother. On March 23, Cecily Chapman posted a photo on Instagram. Fans can’t get over how much she and Beth look alike.
Chapman captions the post by jokingly writing, “You can call me Wednesday hunty.” She references Wednesday Addams, the daughter of the Addams Family.
Dog the Bounty Hunter’s Daughter Looks Like Late Mother
It isn’t the first picture where people have seen the obvious similarities between Cecily and Beth. At 27 years old, Cecily seems to be looking more and more like Beth as she grows older.
This is something that the bounty hunter and huntress’ daughter couldn’t be more proud of as she feels honored to be compared to her late mother. Although Dog the Bounty Hunter isn’t Cecily’s biological father, she still calls him dad.
Cecily posted another selfie in November of 2020 while dining at a restaurant in Hawaii. She claims that many fans approached her, telling her that she looked like a young Beth. A selfie from the previous month resulted in other comments comparing her and her mom.
Cecily Chapman Honors Her Late Mother, Beth
Beth passed away in July of 2019 following a long battle with throat and lung cancer. The tough woman was 51-years-old at the time of her death. She is known for holding down the bounty hunting crew on “Dog the Bounty Hunter.” She definitely stood out while wearing uniquely over-the-top outfits with very tall stilettos. The large Chapman clan has been coping with the loss of the family’s matriarch in different ways.
Cecily had her own way of honoring her late mother. She had been planning to wear the wedding dress Beth wore when she married Duane “Dog” Chapman in 2006 that aired on a special episode of “Dog the Bounty Hunter.” Cecily will marry her fiancee Matty, on December 1, and said she couldn’t express how much it means to be able to have a piece of her mother with her while walking down the aisle.
“It’s very traditional to wear your mother’s dress,” the soon-to-be-bride told The Sun in November 2020. “But most of all it’s a way for me to feel like she is with me the whole time. And be a part of the wedding.”
“I always wanted to wear my mom’s dress for my wedding,” she added. “The day she got married to my dad I thought she looked so beautiful. It was the most beautiful dress I could ever imagine. It’s a big deal for me.”
Plans to Wear Beth’s Wedding Dress Are Changing
However, the situation seems to be changing when it comes to the wedding gown. Earlier this month, Cecily spoke with The Sun again revealing that she is no longer planning to wear Beth’s dress while walking down the aisle.
It’s not because she doesn’t want to honor her mother at the wedding. She believes it would take too many alterations to fit it to herself. She wants to keep the gown original to when Beth first wore it to marry Duane “Dog” Chapman.
“I’m having second thoughts about wearing my mom’s dress because there’s only one dress that’s super beautiful for her and it was custom-made to fit her body,” Cecily explained. “I also don’t want to alter it to where [my sister] Bonnie Jo wouldn’t be able to wear it if she ever decided to, and it might be best just to keep it for a keepsake to remember her by, like a piece of memorabilia.”
Dog the Bounty Hunter Supports His Daughter
She stated that her “Dog the Bounty Hunter” father has been very supportive of the idea.
“He’s been very supportive of us girls having our mother’s things or choosing what to do with them,” she said in the 2020 interview.
The most important thing is for Cecily’s father to walk her down the aisle.
“It will definitely be a special and an emotional day for him,” she says. “It’s very important to me that he walks down the aisle.”
