Robert Trump, President Donald Trump’s brother, has died. The White House confirmed that Robert passed on Saturday night.

President Trump released a statement about his brother’s death. “It is with heavy heart I share that my wonderful brother, Robert, peacefully passed away tonight,” the president wrote, according to Fox News. “He was not just my brother, he was my best friend. He will be greatly missed, but we will meet again. His memory will live on in my heart forever. Robert, I love you. Rest in peace.”

On Friday, President Trump traveled to New York to visit Robert. A senior official in the Trump administration says the President shared a “good relationship with his brother and his brother is very special to him.”

Robert passed 11 days before his 72nd birthday. Earlier this summer, Robert spent more than a week at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City in the intensive care unit.

Of his siblings, Donald Trump’s brother Robert was the youngest. The five Trump siblings include Maryanne Trump Barry, Fred Trump Jr., Donald Trump, Elizabeth Trump Grau, and then Robert. Maryanne is 83 and a retired federal judge. Fred Trump Jr. died in 1981 at the age of 43. Elizabeth Trump Grau is 78 and a retired bank executive.

Like President Trump, Robert joined the family business. He served as a top executive at the Trump Organization.

While Robert primarily stayed away from the public view, he came back into the spotlight when trying to block the publication of his niece Mary Trump’s new book, ‘Too Much and Never Enough.” Robert requested a restraining order to stop the book.

At the time, Robert shared a statement with the New York Times in a statement. “Her attempt to sensationalize and mischaracterize our family relationship after all of these years for her own financial gain is both a travesty and injustice to the memory of my late brother, Fred, and our beloved parents,” he said. “I and the rest of my entire family are so proud of my wonderful brother, the president, and feel that Mary’s actions are truly a disgrace.”
