‘Drake & Josh’ Co-star Josh Peck Addresses Drake Bell’s Recent Charges: ‘It’s Disappointing’

Josh Peck has finally broken his silence regarding charges his former former “Drake & Josh” co-star, Drake Bell faced earlier this year.

Drake Bell, the former Nickelodeon star was arrested on charges of attempting to endanger children in June. Bell pleaded guilty to the felony charge. The actor also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor. That charge stems from an accusation that the star was disseminating material harmful to juveniles.

Josh Peck addressed Bell’s legal issues during a recent Variety interview.

“It’s upsetting, and it’s an unfortunate situation,” the actor said. “It’s disappointing.”

Josh Peck and Bell Had Amazing On-Screen Chemistry

The two actors have been working together since they met on the set of Nickelodeon’s “The Amanda Show,” starring Amanda Bynes. Bell was a regular on the comedy series. Peck joined as a guest in the second season. Drake Bell and Josh Peck displayed immediate chemistry on screen. In 2004, the then-teenage actors teamed up to star in their own series “Drake and Josh.” The show was an immediate hit and stayed on the air until 2007.

The on-screen chemistry between the two actors was so perfect that fans tended to believe Josh Peck and Drake Bell were just as close in real life. However, the actors haven’t worked on a project together since “Drake and Josh” ended in 2007.

In 2017, Bell and Peck had a very public feud. Drake was upset that his former costar, Josh Peck, didn’t invite him to his wedding to Paige O’Brien. The feud was squelched once Peck explained that the wedding was a small one, and the bride handled most of the details, such as the guest list.

The Shocking Charges

Drake Bell appeared in court this summer on a variety of charges. The charges stem from an incident that allegedly took place in 2017. On June 23, Bell was reportedly accused of having a “sexually explicit chat with a 15-year-old fan before a performance.”

Bell faced a potential prison sentence of up to 18 months. However, during the July sentencing hearing, the actor received two years of probation and 200 hours of community service.

Josh Peck has not shared any further comments related to Drake Bell and his legal situations. It is also not known whether or not the two actors have been in contact since the charges were filed.

Peck did not share any further comments about his former co-star’s legal situation, nor did he reveal if he had spoken to Bell.

Josh Peck’s latest project is a series reboot of the 1989 Tom Hanks feature, “Turner and Hooch.” The series premiered on July 16 on Disney+. The first season of “Turner and Hooch” will include twelve episodes. The series costars Carra Patterson, Brandon Jay McLaren, Lyndsy Fonseca, Vanessa Lengies, and Becca Tobin.
