It’s was a happy, happy, happy Thanksgiving for the Robertsons this year. Jase Robertson and his wife Missy welcomed their first grandchild over the holiday, and they’re bursting with joy.
Jase Robertson shared the good news Friday on Twitter with a photo of the baby girl named Merris Carroway Robertson. She was born on Wednesday, Nov. 24, and belongs to Reed Robertson and his wife Brighton. Mom and baby are both healthy, Brighton reported on Instagram.
“A very happy Thanksgiving indeed,” Jase wrote. The Duck Dynasty alumnus looks shell-shocked as he holds his granddaughter.
Missy Robertson also couldn’t hide her excitement. She’s already in love with the new addition to the family.
“This Thanksgiving brought a whole new meaning to gratitude for our family,” she tweeted. “Life is always a gift. Sometimes it comes so close to perfection it literally takes your breath away. Merris Carroway Robertson, you have no idea how much love surrounds you. Pa and Lulu are yours forever!”
Reed and Brighton married in 2016, People said.
Fans were stoked for Jase and Missy.
“Congratulations! An awesome blessing and one more duck hunter to add to the family!” one person tweeted. “Congratulations! She is an angel and a blessing. God bless you and your family, Grandpa Jase!” someone else wrote.
Jase Robertson announced the big news this summer. He said he couldn’t believe he was to be a granddad, but he welcomed the change.
“@missyduckwife and I are about to enter a whole new phase of life, and I’m trying to wrap my head around it. Grandparents??? Kinda pumped,” he tweeted in July.
Jase Robertson Shocked His Youngest Turning 18
Jase and Missy Robertson have four children, but the duck hunting royals will soon find an empty nest. Mia Robertson, the couple’s youngest child, turned 18 in September. Something that threw Jase for a loop.
“18! How is this happening? We love this girl! Happy birthday, Mia! Now, let’s party!” the proud father shared on Instagram.
Missy Robertson also wanted to mark the occasion.
“We celebrate this amazing young lady today. @miarobertson1 is 18 years old. So many emotions when your youngest is officially ‘grown’! Happy birthday, Mia! You are so loved,” she wrote on Instagram.
Mia may be the couple’s youngest, but she’s also the toughest. The 18-year-old underwent “extensive” surgery in February to fix her congenital cleft lip and palate. It was her 14th operation to fix the birth defect, and it was a difficult one.
Jase explained that doctors had to break her jaw to move the upper jaw forward and the lower backward, he said on the Unashamed podcast. But because the risk of choking is so high, doctors couldn’t give her painkillers or anesthetic. Despite this, she made it through without issue.
