Jase Robertson, star of Duck Dynasty, took to social media to share how he’s coping outdoors in the wake of his daughter’s most recent surgery. It’s hard to understand the amount of stress a situation like that will put on a father. And harder still having to go through it in an unfamiliar and uncomfortable setting.
That’s why it’s so good to see him back in his element. The television star and duck hunter posted to Instagram today, sharing a few thoughts on what being outside means to him.
Robertson: “Big cities, hospital rooms, traffic, fast foods. Not my thing. A few hours in the great outdoors provides the perfect setting for reflection and time with the Creator. We all have so much to be thankful for!”
Jase’s daughter, Mia Robertson, was born with a cleft palate and has had a number of corrective surgeries throughout her life. She just recently underwent her longest procedure yet and has a long road of recovery ahead.
The Duck Dynasty star’s post comes in the midst of his daughter’s recovery. It has taken in over 20,000 likes at the time of this writing. The picture shows Robertson in the woods getting some metal detecting done. He’s showing off a find that appears to be an 1899 quarter. But more important than the picture is his message.
Duck Dynasty Stars Know: The Outdoors is The Perfect Place for Reflection
Simply going for a walk through the woods can do wonders for mental health, as Jase Robertson illustrates. Spending time outdoors provides time to disconnect from the constant stimuli of the modern world. It gives your thoughts some room to breathe.
The “great outdoors” means something a little different to each of us. But as humans, we are all connected to it in an undeniable way. There isn’t a person alive who could do without a little fresh air from time to time.
Here at Outsider, we stand by this fact. At heart, we are a community of experts and enthusiasts passionate about being outside. Whether we’re hiking, hunting, fishing, or camping, being an outsider is what we have in common.
