Duck Dynasty star Mia Robertson is a symbol of resilience and determination, and that is proven in an emotional story her mother Missy shared.

Missy Robertson Appreciates the Support

In early February, Jase and Missy Robertson’s youngest child, Mia, underwent an “extensive” surgery to fix her cleft lip and palate that she was born with. At the age of 17, Mia has already had 14 operations to repair her palate.

Missy Robertson gave an update for worried fans on her social media the day before Easter saying how well Mia has been doing.

“Mia is doing fantastic!” the mother of three said. “We so appreciate all of the prayers and good wishes! We have felt every single one. She still has a long way to go, but she has come so far so fast in such a short time.”

Monday night (April 19), Missy Robertson gave another update on Mia, along with four beautiful photos of the smiling teen in Austin, Texas. Mia, who is not on social media, got the opportunity to read the warm and encouraging comments on her mother’s post.

“Ahhh, this girl!” gushes Missy Robertson. “She’s not on social media, so I tried to explain to her yesterday how much people support her and want the very best for her. I also shared with her how she is an inspiration to so many people. She read a few comments on her papaw Phil’s page and also on her daddy’s. She smiled. I teared up. She said, ‘Mom!'”

Missy Robertson on ‘Duck Dynasty’

Duck Dynasty first aired on the A&E Network in 2012 and was an instant hit. The Robertson’s booming company, as well as their way of life, attracted many loyal fans until the show ended in 2017.

Even though Duck Dynasty stopped filming, the family still holds their celebrity title with millions of followers on social media and tuning into their podcast.

Missy Robertson continues her post, explaining how the platform has shaped their lives. Since the family is also very faith-driven, Missy says to turn all your troubles over to God.

“Being on a national stage gives a responsibility only few will ever understand,” Misty wrote. “Mia has a platform and has never even understood her impact. For all of you who are experiencing hurt, challenge, growth… it’s hard. But there is hope. Give it to the One who created you. He loves us to an extent that we will never fully understand, and that’s ok. Just fall into His arms and accept Him. He will make all things right.”
