‘Duck Dynasty’: Photos Show Miss Kay Robertson’s Brutal Dog Bite Injuries

by Halle Ames

Photos of “Duck Dynasty” star Miss Kay Robertson’s injuries have emerged after a dog attacked her lip.

On Tuesday evening, the Robertson matriarch and wife of Phil, Miss Kay Robertson, was rushed to the hospital. One of her dogs, named Bobo, bit off a portion of her lip. The 73-year-old reality television star is back at her home in Monroe, Louisiana.

Her husband spoke about the unforeseen attack on the family’s recent episode of their Unashamed podcast.

A Kiss Goodnight

Miss Kay had gone over to her beloved pet to give it a kiss goodnight. Bobo, who was asleep at the time, was scared by the action and snapped at its owner, splitting her lip. Phil said his wife’s lip was in bad shape when he drove her to the emergency room.

“She takes the rag off her face. And I’m looking at her top lip, which was split in two, about a quarter of an inch. That’s a big cut. Her bottom lip, over on the right side, there was just a chunk gone. Bleeding profusely is an understatement.”

The “Duck Dynasty” star had several stitches around her mouth, to the point where she cannot open it to eat. According to TMZ, she will only be drinking out of a straw for the next few days or weeks. Miss Kay is also on antibiotics and using skin cream to heal the area.

The doctors note it will take around four weeks for her lip and severe bruising to heal. Miss Kay will also need plastic surgery to repair her lips fully.

‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Miss Kay Doesn’t Blame Dog

The small white dog with black and brown patches looks to be a Jack Russel Terrier. And while most would probably be pretty angry with their attacker, Miss Kay says that the bite was her fault.

“She said, ‘You make sure you tell them boys don’t put him to sleep,” notes her husband, Phil. “Don’t hurt that dog because it wasn’t his fault. I said, ‘Well, it was his fault, alright.”

She continues, saying that Bobo apologized to her already.

However, the photos of the incident may have had most questioning things for a second. Miss Kay’s lips are swollen and bruised after the bite. She notes that they are going to look worse before they begin to look better.

Many people commented on the lesson learned from getting in an animal’s face, especially when it’s sleeping. Phil also gave some wise words to his bride.

“Miss Kay, let a sleeping dog lie. You need to remember that,” Phil said. At this point, I think she gets the hint. I don’t foresee her getting near her pups to kiss them goodnight anytime soon.

Slowly Getting Better

Miss Kay Robertson joined the Duck Call Room podcast hosted by Si Robertson, Martin, John David, and another employee named Dan to joke about her current appearance.

“I thought I was watching a horror film, but then I realized it was me,” said Miss Kay.

She continued, saying that God is watching over her.

“I’m sure God has a plan with this,” Miss Kay said. “I’m gonna help somebody just ’cause I went through this. That’s what I’m hoping for. [Doctor] said in a week I won’t be sore, but right now I’m in pain. You know what? I learned that you can live in pain. Maybe that’s part of my learning lesson. I can comfort other people that had something like this happen.”
