It’s Christmas time for a lot of folks who get a jumpstart on the holiday season. The Robertsons from Duck Dynasty are no different. Korie, the wife of Willie, posted an adorable photo of her getting some quality granddaughter time and enjoying the company of family and the leaves changing.
Korie wrote, “The holidays have officially begun around here! Honey spent the night over the weekend; we chose a Christmas tree, thanks to my cutest little helper; the weather is literally perfect, the colors of the leaves stunning, and my grandma and I both won our tables in the scrabble tourney tonight! Feeling very THANKFUL! What are your thanksgiving plans? Any fun family or friends traditions you’re looking forward to?”
One fan wrote in the comments, “I’m thankful for Willie’s accent! In 6 seasons of the Masked Singer, I’ve NEVER guessed correctly who was in costume…until the mallard. I was so excited and who knew that man had such a good set of pipes!!”
Korie Robertson Of ‘Duck Dynasty’ And Their New Show
The Robertsons may not be on Duck Dynasty anymore, but the couple is staying busy, when they’re not hanging out with their family and enjoying the fall foliage. They wanted to do a new show and so they did it. Why? Well, Korie said, “The world looks so divided. You can easily unfollow someone on social media or make a comment on somebody’s post, but a lot of the time we don’t just sit down and talk.”
She’s not wrong here with this perspective. These are divided times, and we should be looking to help in that regard in any way we can. Have conversations and listen to folks and be kind. The golden rule, that sort of thing.
She continued, “For our family, sitting around the dinner table and having those conversations is a big part of our lives, so we thought, “Hey, why don’t we just do that with other people and laugh a lot along the way?” We might be talking about something hard, but in the meantime, we’re going mud-digging or crawfishing or skeet shooting, doing a little Louisiana in there as well.”
The conversations at the dinner table are timeless. Just look at Blue Bloods and the Reagan family dinners. They’re an easy way to connect and talk and listen to other folks and communicate better. The show combines the light stuff with the heavy stuff. But, really, it’s about listening to folks have good ole’ conversations and hopefully mending some fences in the process. Duck Dynasty ended on A&E in 2017.
