Conservative firebrand and television personality Phil Robertson took to Instagram Thursday to joke about U.S. Speaker of the House Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s recent trip to a San Francisco salon.
The post refers to an Aug. 31 trip Pelosi took to eSalonSF where security video showed her walking between rooms without wearing a mask. Pelosi’s office admitted that her visit to the salon was a violation of San Francisco’s COVID-19 safety regulations. Those rules require a mask be worn at all times and all personal care appointments take place outdoors.
But while Pelosi took responsibility for the mistake, she claimed she had been “setup” by the salon.
I take responsibility for trusting the word of a neighborhood salon that I’ve been to over the years many times, and that when they said that we’re able to accommodate people one person at a time and that we could set up that time, I trusted that. As it turns out, it was a setup. So I take responsibility for falling for the setup.Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Sept. 2
eSalonSF owner Erica Kious said she shared the video with Fox News because she felt Pelosi’s visit was a “slap in the face.”
“We have been shut down for so long, not just me, but most of the small businesses and I just can’t – it’s a feeling – a feeling of being deflated, helpless and honestly beaten down,” Kious said.
