Did you know Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson was behind one of the Masked Singer outfits on a recent episode of the hit show on FOX?
Well, now you know. Willie shared a behind-the-scenes look at his costume and what it all looked like after the fact. Willie wrote for the Instagram caption, “Wait whaaat? Swipe to see my practice look ➡️”
Willie was revealed as the Masked Singer on Wednesday’s episode of the program. On the job, Willie said, “I felt comfortable being a mallard.” If you know anything about Willie Robertson, you know he could not be any more correct here.
Willie continued, “When they said duck, I thought, yeah! It was just one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. The first night I thought, there is no way. Most of the people that you named, I’m friends with. So I was laughing a lot because I was like, ‘he’s gonna die when he finds out they thought I was him.’ I was so nervous being in front of you and this has just been a blast. This has been one of the funnest things I’ve ever done.”
It was a blast for Willie, but even he admitted it was a tough position to be in. Still, he had fun with the role and having his friends involved in the process. Maybe we see more game shows in the future for Willie and company?
Why Did ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Willie Cut His Hair?
One of the easiest ways in the past to recognize Willie was his long hair. It was how most folks knew who he was when watching the show yeas ago. His look was iconic, but, not too long ago he cut it.
Willie said of the decision, “It was probably the combination of COVID-19 and the quarantine and a really hot summer. There was no real plan for it. In a way, I see it as a symbol of life-changing. I also see it as a moving on and moving away from Duck Dynasty and where that was.”
It’s interesting that he mentioned that last part. That it was a way for him to move past Duck Dynasty. You can understand where he is coming from there. He is proud of the show and everything they accomplished as a family, but cutting the hair was a way of moving forward to the next thing. The long hair was always going to be associated with Duck Dynasty. Now, with his short hair, he can reinvent himself in a way. Duck Dynasty wrapped up after 11 seasons in 2017 on A&E.
