‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Willie Robertson Reveals If He’s Returning To TV After ‘The Masked Singer’ Appearance

Following his recent appearance on The Masked Singer, Willie Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame has spoken out about possibly making a return to television.

Last week, Robertson was revealed as the performer that’s been wearing the Mallard costume this season. In hindsight, we all should’ve guessed that much sooner. Willie is the CEO of Duck Commander, a hunting company that is well-known for their duck calls. He’s also one of the stars of the hit A&E reality TV series Duck Dynasty, so we should’ve seen it coming.

Robertson recently spoke with Cinema Blend about his experience on the FOX singing competition. The reality star is as surprised as anyone that he competed on the popular series. But he had a great time and is looking forward to what may come next.

“Well, I guess if you’d asked me back in the spring what was coming up, I wouldn’t have mentioned The Masked Singer. I didn’t see that one coming. So it was fun,” Robertson said to Cinema Blend. “It was fun to be back together. And ironically enough, it was on Wednesday night about the same time [Duck Dynasty aired]. So it was kind of cool we were all gathered back up in the living room watching someone on TV from the family.”

Willie went on to share that he and his family might also be open to further TV opportunities if they come up.

“You never know. We’re kind of open to what’s next,” he added. “My personal family has gotten so much bigger, and I have grandkids now. It’s just a lot of things different. A lot of the different family members have different projects and podcasts, and I just started my own YouTube channel, so I’m gonna put some stuff out.”

‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Opens Up About His Experience on ‘The Masked Singer’

During another recent interview with Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson, he shared further details about his time on The Masked Singer.

While speaking to Access Hollywood, Robertson shared how difficult it was to keep his appearance a secret. The competitors aren’t allowed to reveal their identities previous to unveiling themselves on the show. He also spoke about the difficulties that come along with wearing the show’s large, intricate costumes. It’s no easy task to be dressed as a huge Mallard and sing and dance at the same time.

“I was practicing a lot and singing. And I had music going constantly,” the Duck Dynasty star said.

Other issues Robertson faced included having trouble seeing out of his costume. He had to practice in front of a mirror and memorize where to hold the microphone since he couldn’t see. Willie also had to practice some coordinated dance moves in his Mallard costume. They’d rehearse the routines in a separate area and then rehearse on stage as well. However, the biggest issue might’ve been how hot the costume would get while performing.

“It was as hot as you could ever imagine. After every performance, I was soaking wet,” Robertson explained.
