In the eyes of some people, Dwayne Johnson is the ultimate “man,” whatever that means.
The “Jungle Cruise” actor recently got incredibly intimate and personal in an interview with Vanity Fair. The news outlet asked him a series of questions while also slowly zooming in on his face.
From talking about his obsessions to his family to abandonment, fans got to see Johnson in a new light. At one point, the interviewer asks him, “What does it mean to be a man?”
Dwayne Johnson Talks About Being a Man
For Johnson, the majority of being a man means accountability and vulnerability.
“I think what it means to be a man is to be accountable, is to be accountable and stand up to the mistakes that you’ve made. It’s okay to f*** up, it happens to all of us. And be open, rip yourself open, be vulnerable … You know the benefit of doing something like that is on the other side of that usually is some sort of progress, and how important that is,” Dwayne Johnson shared during the interview.
It also seems to also go along with that common phrase — “a man of my word.”
“A quality of being a man is doing what you say you’re gonna do and taking matters into your own hand sometimes. But if you look somebody in the eye, shake their hand, you give them a hug or you give them your word, it’s important to do it…” he also said.
For those who viewed the video, they seemed content on just how open and vulnerable The Rock was himself. One person wrote, “Cool concept. When you can get the Rock to take a second and feel uneasy when he’s such an open and honest guy you know you got something deep and genuine.”
Meanwhile, another person wrote, “As a man, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is the man of men. He is at the top of the top. Such a huge inspiration. Such a role model and figure to aspire to be like.”
A Man’s Love for His Daughters
In the past, Johnson has also opened up about his journey into being a father. During that same interview, Johnson shared that he was absolutely obsessed with being a good father to his three daughters.
While some men are fixated on having a future son, Johnson says his three girls are the greatest gift he’s ever had. He has three amazing daughters — Simone, Tiana, and Jasmine.
“Every man wants a son, but every man needs a daughter. All my girls have become the great equalizers in my life – I’m surrounded by estrogen and wouldn’t have it any other way,” Johnson said in an Instagram post from February. It features him walking hand-in-hand with his youngest daughter.
He’s been more than happy to have his close-knit family. When he announced the news that he was having a third daughter, Johnson was quick to share just how powerful he thinks women are.
“And once again, big daddy is completely surrounded by beautiful estrogen and loving, powerful female mana. All girls. One dude. And a boy dog. I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he wrote on Instagram in December 2017, according to People.
