Dwayne Johnson Eats an Insane Number of Meals a Day

Muscles to the like of movie star Dwayne Johnson don’t just magically appear overnight. You’ve got to adopt a rigorous exercise routine and an even more rigorous diet, according to Johnson.

Building muscle, after all, comes from consuming a lot of protein and nutrients. So, just how many times a day does “The Rock” eat?

Per a recent video with Vanity Fair, that number hovers around “Roughly five to six meals a day.”

That’s twice the number most Americans eat in one day. Not to mention all those calories, which hover between 5,000 and 6,0000 per day, according to this 2015 Food Network article. The average man should eat around 2,500 calories a day, and Johnson easily doubles that.

The article also mentioned how, in general, Dwayne Johnson eats about 10 pounds of food per day. Ten pounds! And of that, around a fifth of what he eats is codfish.

Food Network broke down exactly what Johnson eats (at least back in 2015), though they added a seventh meal to the lineup. But it wouldn’t be surprising if Johnson’s diet hasn’t changed too much since then.

So, for his first meal of the day, Dwayne Johnson gobbles down 10 ounces of cod, two whole eggs, and two cups of oatmeal. He follows that up in Meal #2 with eight ounces of cod, 12 ounces of sweet potato, and one cup of veggies.

Cue Meal #3: eight ounces of chicken, two cups of white rice, and one cup of vegetables. For Meal #4, it’s another eight ounces of cod, two cups of rice, and one cup of veggies (plus a tablespoon of fish oil). Meal #5 switches it up with eight ounces of steak, 12 ounces of baked potato, and spinach salad. Then Meal #6 goes back to fish with another 10 ounces of cod, two cups of rice, and a salad.

For his last meal of the day, Dwayne Johnson goes all out. Thirty grams of straight casein protein, a 10-egg white omelet, one cup of veggies, and one more tablespoon of fish oil. Phew! Anyone feeling full yet?

It’s hard to imagine him having time to make movies with all the eating and working out The Rock fits into his day. But he’s kept himself busy these last few months, working on the new “Black Adam” movie for DC. Dwayne Johnson also has a new Netflix film coming out on Nov. 12 called “Red Notice,” featuring Gal Gadot and Ryan Reynolds. And then there’s Disney’s “Jungle Cruise,” which hit theaters this summer and should be free on Disney+ in the coming months. We can’t wait to see what else Johnson has in store for 2022 and beyond.
