Dwayne Johnson’s friend and business partner Dany Garcia turned 53 today.
And in a heartfelt Instagram post, Johnson—a.k.a The Rock—celebrated his long illustrious relationship with Garcia while wishing her a wonderful day.
“HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYs @danygarciaco,” he wrote alongside a pic of the two on the red carpet. “What a long road of business and enterprise we have built.”
Dwayne Johnson met Dany Garcia when he was only 18 years old. And she saw a spark within him, even though he was a “punk kid.”
The San Andreas actor credits Garcia for noticing “the unique relationship and connection” he’s been “lucky to have with people over the years.”
And thanks to Dany Garcia, Dwayne Johnson became a star.
In his post, Johnson pointed out that Garcia is also a star in her own right. She’s a driven and strong woman who has chaired and founded “multiple companies” throughout her career.
And as he noted, she has “ALWAYS had an extraordinary prescience and macro view of how to architect global success with [his] enterprises.”
Dany Garcia started out with Merrill Lynch. But now, she works as the Global Strategic Advisor to Seven Bucks Companies, which houses all of Dwayne Johnson’s personal businesses. And he said that hiring her is “one of the smartest decisions” he’s ever made.
“That’s saying a lot considering I became famous for wearing a fanny pack,” he added. “Happy Birthday, my friend and enjoy your birthday!!!”
Dwayne Johnson is Decalared ‘The People’s Champion’
The People’s Choice Awards has chosen Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as its 2021 People’s Champion. And the former wrestler is incredibly honored to follow in the footsteps of the original People’s Champion.
“The title of PEOPLE’S CHAMP was given to me by the Greatest of All Time and one of my heroes, the original People’s Champion himself ~ Muhammad Ali,” he wrote in a Twitter post. “It’s a title I proudly own and I know, these days it represents something so much bigger and more important than me.”
The People’s Choice Awards picked Johnson as its champ because of his immense contributions to film and TV, and because of his giving spirit and dedicated philanthropy work.
“It represents being kind to people, taking care of people,” he continued. The actor also added that this applies to every human because “we all bleed red.”
Dwayne Johnson will officially receive his award during the People’s Choice ceremony next month. To watch, tune into NBC on December 7th at 9/8 C.
