Steven Van Zandt believes in the necessity and importance of music instruction in schools. His deep belief in the cause is leading him to host his largest fundraiser yet, as he expresses his passion for the organization.

Van Zandt has rallied some well-known musical troops, including Eddie Vedder, Steve Buscemi, Margo Price, and more to benefit TeachRock.

The organization saves musical education programs, providing online music history courses, along with other resources. This helps students without a school arts program.

Steven Van Zandt has just released his biggest holiday fundraiser, and it is truly something to celebrate.

Van Zandt and his organization will be presenting Stand With Teachers on Dec. 21. The hour-long fundraiser features performances by Eddie Vedder and Margo Price, as well as others.

You can look forward to many appearances, including Steven’s wife, Maureen Van Zandt, and their Sopranos colleagues, Steve Buscemi and Vincent Pastore.

Actors and musicians from all genres will be coming, as well. Whoopi Goldberg, Melle Mel of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, Tom Morello, Edward Norton, and Lillyhammer’s TrøndFausa Aurvåg and Steinar Sagen will be making appearances.

Sending Love to Teachers and School Employees

“Being an educator has never been easy, but 2020 has posed greater challenges than any schools have ever faced. And, as per usual, teachers rise to the occasion,” Van Zandt said. “When schools shut down overnight, teachers rallied and moved classes online. Teachers continue risking their health while serving students and families, be it distributing tech, keeping students connected, or meals to help families in need. Furthermore, teachers are the plainclothes superheroes in our midst. They also deserve to be heard and celebrated. And that’s why we’re going to Stand With Teachers on December 21st.”

Bringing Art and Music Classes Back to Public Schools

Van Zandt, Bono, Martin Scorsese, Jackson Browne, and Bruce Springsteen were involved in the launch of TeachRock, following the reduction of music and art courses due to 2002’s No Child Left Behind bill.

Although the event focuses on the lack of art education in public schools, the fundraiser will have powerful, beautiful, and fun performances. The importance of appreciating music, art, and teachers are all highlighted, as well.
