Ellen DeGeneres Reportedly Gearing Up for Talk Show Exit With Lineup of A-Listers

Ellen DeGeneres is gearing up to take one final bow from her famous talk show— and she’s bringing along some of her favorite people.

Just weeks after the television host announced she was ending her long-running talk show, she’s now preparing to end her show alongside some of her favorite famous pals. They will join her on a string of final shows — but won’t air until 2022.

DeGeneres is reportedly seeking out some of Hollywood’s biggest names to help give her one final send-off. According to Page Six, fans will see Jennifer Aniston, Justin Bieber, and Kevin Hart to bid farewell to DeGeneres.

“Ellen’s staff has already been out to high-profile reps to get their talent on board for one big final week. The plan is to tape a job lot together, so Ellen leaves with a bang,” a source told the publication.

In April, DeGeneres announced that she was ending “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” when her contract ends in 2022. As of now, it’s not yet been announced when the final show will air.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged. As great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres recently said.

Ellen Degeneres Opens up About Toxic Work Environment: ‘Too Orchestrated’

After reports came out earlier that she contributed to a toxic work environment, she insisted that she was not quitting for that reason. During an interview with “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie, she admitted that the attacks on her felt “too orchestrated” and “misogynistic.”

“I mean, I really don’t understand it. I still don’t understand it,” DeGeneres said of the social media negativity around her. For months, she received heat when it was reported that she oversaw a toxic work environment on the show.

“And you know, people get picked on, but for four months straight for me. Then for me to read in the press about a toxic work environment when all I have ever heard from every guest that comes on the show is what a happy atmosphere this is and what a happy place it is.”

Although she vehemently denied any rumors of a toxic relationship, it appears it’s too little too late for her ratings. According to figures from Nielsen, the show’s viewership this season has been almost cut in half.

Season 17 of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” saw an average of 2.6 million viewers per episode. However, the current season attracted 1.4 million per episode, a decrease of 44 percent.
