Are you a fan of Elvis Presley? Are you in the market for a truly unique piece of rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia? Do you have an extra $1 million to spend? If the answer to those questions is yes, you need to mark your calendar for an upcoming auction.

According to TMZ.com, the guitar the King of Rock ‘N’ Roll used in his 1968 comeback special will be on the auction block later this month. That guitar is a Hagstrom Viking II in a cherry red color. The special aired on NBC. It was the first time in seven years that Elvis had performed live. He had spent those years working on movies.

Presley looked awesome as he returned to the stage with this guitar. Images of Elvis dressed in black with the guitar in his hands are pretty iconic. The agency handling the auction is expecting the guitar to be sold for at least $750,000. They also believe the guitar could possibly go for as much as $1 million. The winner of the guitar will also receive sheet music used in the 1968 special.

The guitar has popped up in other places over the years, according to the article. It appeared again with Elvis Presley in the cover photo for his “From Elvis in Memphis” album. This Hagstrom Viking II guitar was also on view at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum.
