Jason Statham Reflects on His Acting Career Through the Years

During an interview with The Guardian, Jason Statham took a look back at the roles he played through the years. “Most of the script that land on my desk are stuff you read and go, ‘Is someone really gonna make this?’”

Jason Statham further admits he was originally more interested in being a movie stuntman instead of an actual actor. He also thought about being a diver as well.

“I wanted to throw myself off a f—ing cliff and parachute away like The Spy Who Loved Me,” Jason Statham proclaimed in the interview. He recalled going on holiday in Florida and seeing someone doing a high dive in the hotel pool every day.

“He’d done this sort of reverse layout,” Jason Statham then explained. “I was like, ‘F—! I’d love to do that.”

Jason Statham also thought about representing the UK at the Olympics for diving. “I thought, ‘F— it, I’ve got to waste another four years training? You know what? Nah.’ It was just one of those chance things.”

He goes on to add that he decided to stop diving, sat down, didn’t do much for a while. Then I got a part in a film. “I was like, ‘F–ing how the hell did this happen?’”
