‘FBI’ Executive Producer Says Crossover Premiere Will Be ‘Really Good Television’

by Jacklyn Krol

Are you ready for an epic FBI crossover premiere?

CBS created an entire Tuesday lineup dedicated to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. It premieres on September 21 with a three-hour crossover event with FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and the new series, FBI: International.

Famed producer Dick Wolf spoke to Deadline about how the three-hour crossover will take place.

“I’ve now seen the crossover that kicks off all three shows in two weeks, and it’s really, really good television,” Wolf told Deadline. “And the cast on the FBIs is truly extraordinary. The storytelling is great. The showrunners are all experienced members of our team. And we’re setting out on what I would call a more mature basis with the entire franchise than we have had the opportunity to be almost in any other situation this quickly.”

Wolf said that some of the fictional storylines will feature situations similar to Jeffrey Epstein and Steve Bing, and Ghislaine Maxwell.

At 8 PM ET, FBI: Most Wanted kicks things off. The premise is when a glitzy yacht party with powerful men ends with a woman being murdered. Secondly, FBI takes the reigns and hunts a criminal enterprise leader. Finally, FBI: International will fly to Croatia to arrest a man who escaped Zagreb, by also kidnapping a 14-year-old girl.

Meet the Newest ‘FBI’ Characters

FBI: International features a cast of new characters who are interacting with beloved characters from the other series in the franchise. The international team is based at Budapest and is ready on a moment’s notice to fly to another country. The crew helps any American citizen on international soil. They cover every type of crime from murder to espionage, kidnapping, and beyond.

Showrunner Derek Haas told TV Insider about each of the main characters in the new series.

Special Agent Scott Forrester (Luke Kleintank) is the leader and the son of a diplomat. Forrester is said to put their mission above anything else. Additionally, he owns a protection dog named Tank who is their secret weapon.

The second in command is Jamie Kellet (Heida Reed). She has been described as being independent and has established her own personal network over her time on the squad. She and Forrester are close and have worked together for five years.

Thirdly, Special Agent Cameron Vo (Vinessa Vidotto) is “a West Pointer who followed in her military dad’s footsteps.” Vo excels at strategy and interrogation and is a new member to the team.

Special Agent Andre Raines (Carter Redwood) has a background in accounting. He tracks down the money trail of criminals but has also learned action skills along the way. He has been on the team for two years.

Finally, Katrin Jaeger (Christiane Paul) is a Europol agent. She is said to be “tough as nails” and acts as the team’s liaison with local authorities. “Though they wind each other up, Jaeger is cut from the same cloth as Forrester,” Haas said. “She wants to catch the bad guys.”
