Give Dick Wolf another “W” in the TV show column. CBS is giving his “FBI: International” show a full-season order of episodes.
Wolf, the franchise maker for “Law & Order” and “One Chicago,” can add another show in the “FBI” franchise. “International” made its debut this season but for a limited number of episodes. That all changed on Monday as that show and “NCIS: Hawai’i” also were given full-season orders.
“These two terrific new dramas are off to a tremendous start,” Kelly Kahl, CBS Entertainment President, said in a statement according to Variety. “They have significantly strengthened and improved our lineup on their respective nights and are generating huge increases on our streaming platforms as well. We applaud the talented producers, writers, and casts on their compelling storytelling and performances, which are clearly resonating with viewers.”
‘FBI: International’ Responsible For Big Increase in Viewership Year-to-Year
“FBI: International” has performed incredibly well when looking at data from season to season.
“International,” according to Nielsen and Adobe Analytics, is averaging 8.79 million viewers across its first two episodes. It is responsible for a 358 percent increase in the 9 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m Central, block on Tuesday from the same time period last year.
In addition, Wolf, who is well aware of the power of stacking episodes, can see that the “FBI” block on Tuesdays is winning. It is bringing CBS more than 1 million viewers to the network every Tuesday night.
“International” stars Luke Kleintank, Heida Reed, and Carter Redwood, among others. The show sees an elite group of operatives from the FBI’s International Fly Team traveling all over the world from Budapest, Hungary. Their mission is to track and neutralize threats against American citizens.
Chalk up another victory for Wolf and Co.
Show Gives Viewers a Sneak Peek at How Action Scene Is Shot
When shows can give viewers a chance to see behind the camera what we don’t usually see, then it’s worth taking a quick tour.
“FBI: International” is giving us that chance. They released a short clip where we receive quite a view.
Why? There is no music to back up the shot. Also, we get a view that usually isn’t seen by those who tune into “FBI: International.”
In the clip, actress Christiane Paul, who plays Europol Agent Katrin Jaegar, does one of maybe several takes of a simple stunt. Those who have seen it were impressed by what they saw.
The new show just joins “FBI” and “FBI: Most Wanted” on the CBS schedule. Now that it receives a full-season run, it will be interesting to see what happens.
