‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ Reboot Actor Adrian Holmes Involved in Fatal Car Accident

The original “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” premiered at the very start of the 90s with Will Smith as its star. The show ran for 6 seasons and fans always hoped for a later reboot with the original cast reprising their roles. Last month, fans received two big updates on that front. First off, Peacock announced a revival of the series, bearing the same title. However, the release of the main cast featured mostly new faces, like Adrian Holmes. The second update was for fans of the OG cast. Will Smith announced that his production company would be reuniting some familiar faces for a one-time special set for November.

Adrian Holmes joins the new cast as Phillip Banks, otherwise known as “Uncle Phil.” Reports describe a scary vehicular incident that Holmes reportedly found himself involved in this week. Unfortunately, it was also reported that one man sustained fatal injuries at the scene. Here’s what happened.

A John Doe Reportedly Struck Three Times on the Busy LA Freeway

Reports put Adrian Holmes as the driver of a vehicle that collided with a man lying in the middle of a busy LA freeway. The incident reportedly took place on Monday evening. Holmes traveled the 110 freeway north of Sunset Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles. He was said to be driving southbound.

Holmes, unfortunately, was unable to swerve or stop his vehicle in time upon seeing the man. Adrian’s vehicle made contact with him and, sadly, so did the car behind him. After contact with the second car, the unidentified man then ended up in a different lane of traffic, where a third car struck him.

Police launched an investigation to figure out how the man ended up in such a dangerous area. Sources from the scene don’t seem to think that drugs or alcohol played a factor with any of the drivers, including Adrian Holmes. Police have yet to confirm or deny toxicology results for anyone involved at the scene.

The Future of Adrian Holmes’ Uncle Phil for the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ Reboot

The reboot of the “Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” got picked up by Peacock for 2 seasons after Will Smith saw a viral short film trailer hypothesizing the project. Though he does not star in the reboot, he actually signed on as executive producer. According to Adrian Holmes’ personal Instagram account, the new cast wrapped up filming the pilot last month.

As the investigation into the accident continues, it’s hard to say what will happen next. For now, it seems that Adrian Holmes walked away from the scary event without any physical signs of injury himself.

He recently wrote a long-form note of appreciation to his fellow cast and all the fans that made the reboot possible in an Instagram post. You can read it in full below:
